3. Idea #1 – Most Practical:
Tutor
Tutoring is probably the most practical idea generated to solve this
particular problem because opportunities to tutor abound and barriers
to entry are low. Students interested in teaching can begin tutoring
while still in high school and continue through college (and
beyond), choose which subjects to tutor and often choose who to
tutor. This is also one of the most flexible options to gain real world
teaching experience.

4. Idea #2 – Most Disruptive:
Student Teach
The most disruptive idea is the concept
of having all future teachers join an
actual teacher’s classroom and student
teach. This would obviously give the
future teacher lots of real world
experience. However, transitioning a
classroom to a new teacher, even part
time, can be hard on the teacher, on
the students and on the school. The
concept offers the most benefits to the
future teacher but also the most risks
and hardships.

5. Idea #3 – My Favorite:
Be a Mentor
I really like the idea of a future teacher
becoming a mentor to a younger child in
any subject of their choosing or just as a
big brother/big sister. I personally had
some great mentors growing up and
became one myself when I became old
enough. I cannot begin to fully enumerate
all the benefits to both the mentor and
mentee in a strong mentor relationship. I
know it has greatly aided my professional
career and believe it has a lot of potential
for others to benefit from it, too.
