1. Obtain All Information Concerning the Healthcare of the Patient:
• Medical Records from each doctor the patient sees.
• List of all drugs and treatments along with their intended purpose and
potential side-effects. You will need to look these drugs up online. Do
not trust the drug companies, find forums where actual patients are
telling of their experience with the medications. This will give you a
very good idea what the drug is going to do. Anyone with insurance
including Medicare is generally put on at least one patent medications.
These drugs are newer and there is not as much information on the
side-effects that has been obtained honestly. The forums online are
the place to find this information.
• Find out if any medications have been prescribed for treating the side-
effects of other medications.
• Make certain there are no duplicated medications. My mother was
being given two heart medications. One had been discontinued by the
doctor but his staff did not catch it and the pharmacist was still filling
the prescription for both.
• Sometimes multiple doctors are prescribing medications and one does
not know what the other is prescribing. This can cause very serious
drug interactions. Make up a total complete list and carry it with you to
all doctors the patient sees. Leave them all an up-to-date list. I used
to print out the list and I had it so the day it was printed it stuck the
date right at the top of the page. This way it was not in ink or
something they could change with their own pen. It was printed from
my printer.
2. Change the Diet for Optimal Health:
• Eliminate all processed foods, that is, food in a box with the picture on
the front.
• Eliminate almost all canned food. A bowl of soup every once in a while
is okay but stay away from canned vegetables. They are not bad for
you necessarily, they just have no food value. The vitamins have been
boiled out and discarded with the water they were boiled in.

3. • Eat only fresh vegetables if available. If not, frozen are okay. Steam
half of the fresh vegetables and have the other half in a salad. Use
dressing that does not contain sugar or high fructose corn syrup which
is much worse.
• Eat fresh or frozen uncontaminated protein sources. Almost all meat at
the grocery store is inundated with antibiotics and steroids. Many of
the grocery chains sell premium meats that do not contain antibiotics
or steroids. These meats are a little more expensive but worth every
penny.
• Eliminate all sugar and sweet foods and drinks including fruit. (Green
apples are the exception. They are wonderful fried in coconut oil with
some cinnamon sprinkled on top. This is not cinnamon and sugar just
cinnamon.)
• Eliminate all grains including bread, cereal, pasta and rice.
• Eliminate simple carbohydrates like potatoes. These become sugar in
only a few biochemical steps and provide a food supply to pathogens.
• Drink the correct amount of distilled or spring water. A good rule of
thumb is to weigh yourself and divide by two for the approximate
number of ounces per day.
3. Add Supplements for Optimal Health:
• High quality Omega-3 fatty acids.
• A high quality, enteric coated probiotics containing both the
Lactobacillus sp. and the Bifida sp. strains for replenishing both large
and small intestines.
• Alfalfa tablets for increased alkalinity and a natural, bioavailable
source of vitamins and minerals.
• Proteolytic Enzymes for elimination of protein covering on pathogens.

associated with emphysema and COPD.

4. 4. Eliminate Anything Creating a Negative Effect:
• Any medication or treatment that is not providing relief.
• Any medication or treatment that is causing the deterioration of the
patient's condition.
• Any medication prescribed for relief of a side-effect resulting from
another drug.
5. Include Medications and Treatments That Will Expedite Healing
• These will not be the drugs generally prescribed for emphysema and
COPD that only mask symptoms and do not provide any actual healing
for the patient.
6. Document everything:
• Body weight - daily or at least weekly.
• Daily food intake. Approximate weight or size like normal sized
boneless, skinless chicken breast.
• Daily supplements intake including brand name and strength.
• Daily medications and treatments including strength of each
medication.
• Include any physical changes especially improvements no matter how
minute.
• Include overall feelings (cheerful, melancholy, optimistic, antagonistic,
etc.)
