The only city of Australia to have featured in the list of 'Best in Travel 2013' by Lonely Planet at
number 7, Hobart is also the world's third most photogenic city. The hub of all administrative and
financial activities in Tasmania, Hobart still contains the bygone era in itself, which is beautifully
mixed with the vibrant metropolis. The essence of the European culture can be sensed everywhere
in the city, especially in the settler cottages and the colonial mansions. 19th Century warehouses
have been converted into beautiful cafes, studios and restaurants, which emanate classical music
and the scent of delicacies all over.
Hobart welcomes thousands of tourists every year. The varieties of tourist attractions here make
sure they all have a great time. One of the most famous sites is the Wellington Park. It stretches
right from the city's fringe to the Pinnacle. With walking trails and activities like biking, hiking and
bush-walking, Wellington Park is an ideal place for family picnics.
The summit of Mount Wellington offers amazing views of islands and estuaries, ranging out to the
Great Southern Ocean. The Bonorang Wildlife Sanctuary is one place that is definitely in the must
watch list. Established in 1981, the name means 'Native Companion' in the aboriginal language.
Injured and orphaned wildlife is provided shelter here. The sanctuary makes for heart-warming
scenes, as tourists and locals are taught how to take care of injured animals, and interact with the
animals too.

Hobart does not hold back as far as entertainment goes. The Salamanca Market, which is held at the
harbours under sun-umbrellas, is one of the best outdoor markets in Australia. More than 300 stalls
of food, music, vegetables, cafes, live music, folk songs, handcrafted Tasmanian art and craft,
clothing etc. are devoured with energy and enthusiasm.
The oldest brewery in Australia, the Cascade Brewery is full of customers throughout the year. The
tourist will find a variety of Tasmanian beers and drinks here. A rink and a good meal can be
enjoyed whilst enjoying the view of the castle-like facade of the brewery through the atrium
windows.
2. Entertainment is carried forward by the Live Theatre of Louisa's Walk, where the story of Louisa
Ragan is acted, centered at the World Heritage Listed Cascade Female Factory. The historic town of
Richmond also has the Richmond Maze to offer, which is a tangle of pathways and dead ends. Add
to them the tea-rooms located here, the Richmond Maze is an ideal spot for the entire family.
Tourists can hire a car in Hobart while travelling to all these wonderful places. This makes up for an
ideal mode of conveyance as the convenience is taken care of, and the luxury offered is impeccable.
