After a Bachelor's Degree in design at the Institut Saint-Luc in Liège, at the border of Belgium, Netherlands and Germany, Francis Jacquerye completed a Master's Degree at the University of Kent in Rochester, UK.
Following a position as Interior Architect near Brussels, Belgium, he relocated to Milan, Italy, to initially work as a Communication Designer. In 2001, his first published watch design received first prize of the prestigious Shonan World Design Award. The creation of another watch invention, an invisible buckle, opened the doors to an in-house designer position for an Italian watch company. While in Italy, Francis also enlisted in the Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana to learn goldsmithing and acquire a better undersanting of luxury watches manufacturing.
In 2007 Francis relocated to the Swiss Watchmaking Valley to work for one of the country's leading watch companies, where he was promoted to Lead Designer and Competitive Intelligence Manager. During this time, he also studied Practical Watchmaking in Geneva and Project Management. In late 2013, Francis left his in-house position to open his own studio with the focus on using his skills and expertise for established companies and start-ups.
