If you think that you have to use harsh and toxic chemicals to get your bathroom clean, think again. You are making a mistake when you use these products that usually cause eye and skin irritations and can have harmful long term effects. You can save money when you use natural products that you can find in your cupboard and get the same results. Here are a few tips on how to clean your bathroom in a natural way:

Tip 1 - Cleaning The Mirrors And Counters

Mix one part white vinegar to one part water and pour it into a spray bottle. This can be used to clean the mirrors in your bathroom as well as the countertops. You can wipe them down using a cloth or preferably a paper towel that is biodegradable instead of using a sponge. Using a sponge for this type of work usually ends up leaving you with a bacteria-ridden sponge.

Tip 2 - Cleaning The Toilet

Use baking soda instead of a toilet cleaner and a toilet brush. Baking soda will get the toilet white and clean. You can also use the vinegar solution to clean and sanitize the outside of the toilet and the toilet seat. Baking soda does not contain any of the harsh chemicals that are found in toilet bowl cleaners.

Tip 3 - Cleaning The Tub

Instead of using a soft scouring scrub or powder in the tub, you can also use baking soda. Just sprinkle it in and use a soft brush to clean the tub and the shower. You can use the vinegar solution to clean the glass on the shower doors as well. You will find that this does not leave you with a headache or any sort of skin irritations but gets your tub clean. Baking soda also works wonders on the chrome in the tub as well.

Tip 4 - Cleaning the Floor

Use a micro fiber mop and vinegar and water to clean the bathroom floor. The mop will pick up all the debris on the floor and the vinegar solution will make it disinfected as well as clean and shiny.

By following these tips, you can have a clean bathroom that is environmentally friendly and best of all, safer for your family. You will find that you get the same results with these products as you will with those that contain harsh chemicals that pollute your home as well as the environment. These products are also a lot less expensive than the traditional cleaning products.
