4.  Your wedding ceremony in Mauritius will be
performed by the civil status officer at any place of
your choice on the island. Two witnesses are
required. The witnesses must be at least 18 years
old and submit their passports. If the couple
travels alone we will gladly organize for the
witnesses.
 Since each marriage is specific, the documentary
requirements may vary. The laws in Mauritius
accept documents in English or French. All
documents must be translated by an officially
authorized translator into English or French and
have to be authenticated by a notary

8. For a civil wedding in Mauritius, the following documents are
required. Please send us the document copies by latest 6
weeks before your arrival in Mauritius.
• 2 birth certificate copies of both spouses
• 2 copies of the first three pages of the passport of both
spouses (valid passport of 10 years)
• Proof of change of name, if applicable
• 2 copies of any other documents relating to cases of
divorce or widowhood if for one or both applicable
• Both bride and groom have to be over 18 years old (if not:
need a legal parental consent)
• Couples need to be on the island 3 working days prior to
the ceremony
• Travel with all necessary documentation in original
