How did you use media technologies in the construction and research
1. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research,
planning and evaluation?
A Media technology is software that enables you to change and manipulate
sound, images and videos. Through out the research, planning, construction and
evaluation we have used software’s to display and manipulate work. Due to
using them it shows our work at a stronger standard as well as displays work in
organized and easy to read layout.
Research:
Through out our research and planning we’ve have used software’s such as
Slideshare to up load power point and word documents. This has made it easier
to upload documents to our Blogger as all we had to do was copy the embed code
thenpaste on to the Blogger website. As part of our research we each watched a
music video and looked in to how many shot counts averagely a successful music
video in our genre consumes, this helped us to understand where shots where
most used and how many shot we would need to make a successful video. We
used Google chrome which is anInternet search engine to access YouTube, a
website that contains video blogs. YouTube made it easier to do the shot count as
it was simple to use the ‘Pause, rewind’ and ‘Fast-forward’ when analyzing the
Paramore ‘Crush Crush Crush’ video. Also for our planning we had to research in
to different shots due to that fact that our college has Apple Mac Computers it
was easy to snap shots from the internet by clicking ‘Alt, Shift and 4’,by doing
that it would enable us to select any area we liked. The Mac instantly copy’s the
area and pastes its on your desktop. This meant it was easier to find and just
drag over to power point. This media technology was simple to use but
unfortunately it didn’t have many aspect to experiment with.

Construction:
We used Photoshop, an editing program that is used to digitally manipulate
graphic images. There is a simple feature called filter gallery, which gives you an
option of different textures, and style for you to select this feature is easy to use
and is a starting step for the people who are new to photo shop. Due to two of the
members in our group being highly familiar with Photoshop this meant we could
use more advanced tools doing so meant that it would talk longer as each tool is
only as good as long as the person controlling the mouse was steady, accurate
and patient. We used this media technology to create our Digi-pack, logo and
poster. This used tools such as the clone stamp tool; this device meant we could
cover unwanted spots or marks on the band member’s skin. It was simple to use,
as all we had to do was press and hold down ‘Alt’ and select with our mouse a
nice section of skin. After doing so we let go of the ‘Alt’ button and used the
mouse to clear the spot by clicking over the area. This meant that the band
members had smooth clean skin. Another tool that was used was the ‘Color
Range’, we clicked an area such as the background and the tool highlights all
2. areas with the same tint of colour. This meant we could use the paint tool and
make the background one smooth colour. With this tool it meant we could also
hide unwanted shadow by painting them the same colour as the background. The
down side to manipulating the colour on the background was that if the colour
didn’t smoothly fit in with the theme then you could tell it had been digitally
changed, so after a few trial and eras we found that grays best suited our design.
Also due to the background being different coloured pixels it took an extreme
amount of time to get areas all the same colour. We also used the ‘Burn’ tool, due
to our choice of genre being ‘Glam Rock’ this tool enabled us to darken areas
such as eyes, hair and general features of the face to enhance the ‘Rock’ Texture.
The front cover to our digi-pack was created with faded out versions of members
this was simply done by creating a layer and using the opacity to fade the image.
Due to Photoshop we were able to create unique images, as the Media
technology is easy to use.
Another media technology we used during construction was final cut; this is a
program that enabled us to create and edit our video.it was easy to drag our
filming in to the program as well as cut the image. To do so we double clicked the
filming what we want to use to, it would then appear large. We played the filming
till we found the part we wanted to use then clicked the first ‘mark in’ tool and
continued playing it till we finished the section we want and then click the ‘mark
out’ tool. We could manually move the mark tool as well but it was up to
personal preference for what was easier to do. We downloaded the track
‘Growing On Me’ from a YouTube converter. After it was saved on one of the
computer files we then dragged it in to Final cut and clicked ‘Sequence, Render,
Render All, Both’ after doing so we could then listen to the track. We then used
the scroll bar’s
