Bilgisayar, giriş birimleri ile dış dünyadan aldıkları
veriler üzerinde aritmetiksel ve mantıksal işlemler
yaparak işleyen ve bu işlenmiş bilgileri çıkış
birimleri ile bize ileten, donanım ve yazılımdan
oluşan elektronik bir makinedir.
4. • Bilgisayar kelimesi 1646 yılında İngilizce
“Hesaplayıcı (Computer)” adını almıştır.
• Bilgisayar, uzun ve karmaşık hesapları bile
büyük bir hızla yapabilen mantıksal bağlantılara
dayalı karar verip işlem yürüten makinadır.
• Bilgisayar girdiğimiz verileri makine diline çevirir.
Sadece 0 ve 1‟lerle çalışır.
5. Bilgisayarın Tarihsel Gelişimi
§ 1850 yılında George Boole kendi adıyla anılan ve
sadece 1 ve 0 rakamlarının kullanıldığı Boole Cebiri
sistemini bularak, bilgisayarların gelişimi üzerinde
önemli rol oynamıştır.
§ 1890 yılında Dr. Herman Hollerith, 1890 ABD
nüfus sayımında bilgileri derlemek için kullanılan ilk
elektromekanik delikli kart veri işleme makinesi
tanıttı. Geliştirdiği aracı halka pazarlama konusunda
başarılı oldu.
6. 1931 yılında Alman bilim adamı Konrad Zuse
elektrik enerjisi ile çalışan ilk hesaplama
araçlarından biri olan Z1‟i tasarladı. Zuse‟nin
geliştirmiş olduğu bu araç, programlanabilir ilk
bilgisayar olarak kabul edilmektedir.
Z1 bilgisayara klavye ile girilen verileri okuyarak ne
yapması gerektiğini belleğinde tutabilme yeteneğine
sahipti.

8. 1937‟de çalışmalarına başlayan ABD‟li bilim
adamları George Stibitz ve S.B. Williams
1940‟da
ilk
dijital
elektronik
bilgisayarı
geliştirmiştir. Stibitz‟in geliştirmiş olduğu bu araç
“Complex
Number
Calculator”
olarak
bilinmektedir.
1941‟de Alan M. Turing ve M.H.A. Neuman,
Colossus adlı bilgisayarı tasarlamışlardır.
10. § 1944 yılında Howard Hataway Aiken
tarafından geliştirilen Mark I, genellikle ilk
bilgisayar kabul edilir. Mark I, delikli kart
sistemiyle çalışmasına karşın; daha önceki
benzerlerinden
farklı
olarak,
logaritma
ve
trigonometri
fonksiyonlarını
da
hesaplayabiliyordu. Yavaş olduğu halde, tam
otomatik olarak çalışması ve uzun işlemleri
çözebilmesi ona büyük avantaj sağlıyordu.
12. § 1943‟te yapımına başlanan ENIAC adlı
bilgisayar 1946 yılında tamamlanmıştır. ENIAC
(Electronic Numerical Integrator and
Computer) mali kaynakları Pentagon tarafından
karşılanan bir deneme çalışması olarak
başlamıştır.
ENIAC,
Birleşik
Devletler
ordusunun savaş sırasındaki işlemleri için
geliştirilmeye çalışılıyordu. Bu makine on haneli
5000 sayıyı bir saniye içinde toplayabiliyordu.
Tümüyle elektronik olarak çalışan ilk
bilgisayar, ENIAC’tır.

14. § 1950‟li yılların başlarına gelindiğinde seri halde
bilgisayar üretimi çalışmaları hız kazanmıştır.
ENIAC‟ı tasarlayan Eckert ve Mauchly ticari
olarak bilgisayar üretmek için Eckert and
Mauchly Computer Corporation şirketini
kurdular. ENIAC‟tan sonra benzer ilkelerle
yapılan ilk bilgisayar UNIVAC-1 (Univesal
Automatic Computer) olmuştur. UNIVAC-1
ticari olarak üretilen ilk bilgisayardır.

16. § 1969‟da IBM dünyanın ilk kişisel bilgisayarını
geliştirme çalışmalarını başlatmıştır. Bu bilgisayar
SCAMP olarak adlandırılmıştır.
§ 1971‟de John Blankenbaker ilk kişisel bilgisayar
(PC) olan Kenbak I geliştirmiştir.
§ 1981’de Adam Osborne ilk taşınabilir
bilgisayarı geliştirmiştir.
§ 1981‟de Commodore firması, 1 milyondan fazla
satış yapan VIC-20 ev ve ofis bilgisayarını
üretmiştir.
19. § 1983 baharında IBM , içinde sabit disk bulunan ilk
kişisel bilgisayarı olan PC/XT'sini piyasaya sürdü.
Disk, yerleşik bir depolama aygıtı olarak çalışıp, 10
megabayt„lıktı.
Apple bilgisayarda yine bu tarihte Macintosh‟u tanıttı
ve bilgisayarın kolay kullanımında bir devrim yarattı.
§ 1984 yılında, IBM, Intel'in 80286 mikro işlemcisine
dayalı, PC AT adlı yüksek performanslı ikinci kuşak
bilgisayarını tanıttı. IBM PC'den üç kat hızlıydı.
21. § 1987 yılında IBM ilk PS/2 makinelerini tanıttı.
Bu bilgisayarlar 3,5 inç disket sürücüsüne ve
video grafik dizi standardına sahipti.
§ 1988 yılında piyasaya sürülen optik depolama
alanına sahip ilk kişisel bilgisayar NEXT, nesne
yönlü dilleri destekliyor ve programlamayı
kolaylaştırıyordu.
22. § 1990 yılında Apple Macintosh IIfx‟ i piyasaya
sürdü. 68030'un 40MHz sürümünü temel alan
IIfx, 10 MIPS'e ulaşabiliyordu.
Commodore ise ilk 32 bit Amiga olan Amiga
3000'ini piyasaya sürdü.
§ 1996 yılında Toshiba PC uyumlu en küçük
bilgisayar olan Libretto’yu pisaya sürdü.
24. § 1997 yılında IBM'in Deep Blue PC'si Garry
Kasparov„u satrançta yenen ilk bilgisayar oldu.
§ 2006 yılında Apple İntel tabanlı çift çekirdekli
ilk bilgisayar olan MacBook Pro‟yu piyasaya
sürdü.
§ 2010 yılında Apple, akıllı cep telefonları ve
laptop'lar arasındaki boşluk üzerinde bir köprü
vazifesi gören tablet bilgisayarı Ipad’i yayınladı.

İlk dönemde kullanılan Vakum Tüplerinin yerine transistörler
kullanılmaya başlandı. Bununla beraber daha hızlı ve daha az

Transistörler bir araya getirilerek Entegre Devreler yapıldı. İlk
Merkezi İşlem birimi CPU yapıldı. Bu kuşaktaki bilgisayarlarda
da boyutlar önemli ölçüde azaltılmıştır ve önemli düzeyde
performans gelişimi sağlanmıştır.

32. 4.Kuşak Bilgisayarlar (1970 ve sonrası)
Dördüncü kuşak, mikroişlemcilerin üretilmesiyle birlikte başlayan
kuşaktır. Mikro işlemci yada yonga teknolojisi sayesinde bilgisayarlar
avuç içine sığacak kadar küçültülebilmiştir. Ayrıca güç tüketimi
azaltılmış ve performans ciddi boyutta iyileştirilmiştir.
Özellikleri:
• Mikroişlemcilerle daha hızlı işlemler yapılmaktadır.
• Daha fazla bilgi ve program saklanabilen disk ve CD'ler
kullanılabilmektedir.
• Yapay zekâ kavramı hayata geçirilmiştir.
• Ağ sistemleri oluşturulup bilgisyarlar arasında iletişim
sağlanabildi.
• Bilgisayarlar fiziksel olarak küçülerek kullanışlı ve taşınabilir
hale geldi.

34. 5.Kuşak Bilgisayarlar (Yapay Zeka)
Yapay zeka yapma yönünde çalışmalar yapılmaktadır. Bilgisayar
teknolojisinde yeni bir araştırma konusu olan yapay zekâ "kendi
kendini denetleyebilen, daha akıllı ve insanlarla tam bir uyum
içerisinde olabilen zeki makineler yapmak" şeklinde tarif edilebilir. Bu
alanda yapılan çalışmalar henüz istenilen düzeyde değildir. Bu
kuşaktaki bilgisayarlardan beklenen hedefler şunlardır:
• Üretkenliğin düşük olduğu alanlarda, üretkenliği arttırmak amacıyla
pratik metotlar geliştirmek,
• Kalkınmada ve gelişmede, uluslar arası dayanışmaya katkıda
bulunmak,
• Enerji ve kaynak tasarrufunda bulunmak.
35. Beşinci nesil bilgisayarların en ünlüleriden biri
Arthur C. Clarke ın romanındaki (2001: A Space
Odyssey) HAL9000 dır. HAL insan operatörlerle
sohbet eden, görsel girdiler kullanan ve kendi
deneyimleri ile öğrenen yeterli yargılama
süreçlerine girebilen bir bilgisayardır.
