There should be a white/negative space on your slides. Avoid clutter. If your slides are too busy, your audience will pay more attention to the slides and pay less attention to you, which is not good.
Limit bullet points and text.

Clip art is tacky and everybody has seen it before. Stock photos are more interesting and diverse.

Fonts can communicate things in a more subtle manner. Don’t use more than two fonts per an entire presentation. Sans-Serif fonts are best for powerpoints.
This promotes cognitive action which is the natural way to learn. Also, videos keep the audience engaged.
Check the flow of your slides, make sure it is coherent. The more coherent it is, the more your audience will take away from your presentation.
