2. Full body shot
• This is a full body shot of a well known
celebrity .This shot is often used if the
person is recognisable enough to the
audience that you are able not to use a
close up because a close up gives you a
closer and more clear shot of who it is . I
think the reasoning behind the angle in this
shot is to show the clothing she is wearing
because she is well known for her outfit
choices this allows the picture to be more
eye catching and colourful because the
frame is longer so more of the celebrity is
shown. The eye-catching features of this
photo are that it uses the colour. By using
mainly black for her entire body but then
adds a vibrant and bright splash of colour
to the image this catches the eye of the
audience because of the contrast the
colours create. Another effect used is that
they have allowed the image to look
original by creating something so different
to what other photos look like this creates a
main draw in by using creativity and over
the top effects throughout the image . The
lighting within the shot is effective because
they use a light reflector this will cause the
light to reflect off the surface and stay fairly
narrow on the bounce this is used to make
sure the paint or oil looks wet and shiny
and highlights one side of her body. Giving
the other a shadowing allowing it to look
more edgy and mysteries.
3. Low angle shot
• This low angle shot is used to make the
audience feel inferior to the celebrities
this makes the audience want to buy the
magazine because the angle intimidates
the audience because they feel like the
celebrities are more powerful. The pose
the girl is in creates a more close up
shot this draws the audience in because
of the eye contact this is a draw in
therefore persuades them to buy the
magazine. The dull coloured clothing
and background within the shot are
used to make the more vibrant colours
stand out to the audience more, for
example the girls red hair looks really
bright and eye-catching compared to
the dull and lifeless colours. The band
are all dressed in different dull colours
but all have the tie in colour of black
this helps make them look more like a
group and not separate celebrities. The
lighting shown is coming from the
camera or below the camera to
illuminate there faces and to create
shadowing to create a sharper edge .
The back ground has been kept simple
and grey to not pull away from the
celebrities this allows them to be the
main pulling point and the first thing
the audience look at. The face the
woman is pulling implies that the band
is play full and likes to mess around and
have fun this allows the audience to
relate and see what type of people the
band are and also what type of music
they play..
4. High angle shot
• This high shot angle shot is used to create a
more close up view of the celebrities face this
makes them more recognisable to the
audience. The main point this shot is usually
used is when they want the model or
celebrity to look inferior or less intimidating
the angle on this specific shot creates a more
personal view this helps because the
audience will either feel obliged to buy it
because they feel sorry for them or help
them to relate therefore making them want
to buy it so they can really get the inside look
on the celebrity . The lighting used in this
image is coming from the top of the frame
,this is either created by a flash or a source of
light such as cool lights to create a lighting
just at his face the reason hot lighting isn't
used is because that would be to bright and
cause the person not to be able to open there
eyes or to squint. The rest of his body
however is shadowed this gives the effect that
he is looking up to the light. the colours used
in this shot are mainly different shades blues
and blacks this creates a main theme and
allows a easier job for the person who is
choosing the text and the colours that will be
over the image, it also connotes he is sad
because blue usually signifies depression or
sadness this is also helped by the expression
on the celebrities face which is straight and
emotionless this gives the audience a idea
that the story about the artist will be sad or
about how he feels, it also helps them see
what type of music genre the artist usually
sticks to. The high angle image also elongates
his body and slims him making his head look
bigger in proportion to his body this creates a
very interesting image which is appealing to
the audiences eye allowing it to look creative
and unusual.
5. High angled Tilted frame
close up The high angle gives a
sharper look to her
face and creates a
more visually
interesting shot. The
tilted frame creates a
more unique
photograph and
frames the face better
it also allows a better
angle to create
shadowing on the
models face this
hardens her features
and allows her to look
more like a model. The
close up allows the
frame to focus on just
her face this is
effective if the photo
where to be used in a
make up advert .
6. tilted frame • This medium close up
allows the audience to
medium close see very clearly who the
person is and also allows
up the model to look closer
at the camera allowing
them to draw in the
audience. The high
lighting creates a angelic
and sweet look to her
face creating a softer feel
to the image , it also
creates shadowing under
her face allowing the
photograph to look more
professional . The props
used within the image
create a different feel to
the image allowing it to
be original and catch the
audiences eye the fabric
draped around her face
gives contrast and a flow
to the image while also
framing the models face
this creates a all over
better image.
7. Over the
shoulder shot • This over the
shoulder shot
allows the image
to look more
creative and
allows the
audience to focus
on the models face
creating a main
draw in the
expression on the
models face
creates a more
carefree playful
image allowing
the audience to
see she is happy
even though the
image is without
colour. The
lighting catches
her face
illuminating her
features allowing
her entire face to
be seen properly.
