1. For my second and final mood board I decided to go for an indie/rock mood and feel
for my magazine. I decided to use more pictures of bands because I wanted to show
their material they played with, such as guitars, drums and microphones that they
use when performing. I used a picture of a recording studio this reflect on the name I
have chosen to give to my magazine; “Studio 64”as I wanted to have the feel if a
music magazine. I also used “NME” which resembles a masthead, on my mood board
because this is the look and feel I wanted for my music magazine. I used pictures of
bands like “The Rolling Stones” performing on stage live as these were the kind of
pictures I wanted to have in my magazine as it created the look and feel I want for my
product. I also have a picture of a sign saying “Battle of the Bands” in black white and
yellow colours, as it reflects on the recent music industry. At the moment in the
music industry there are a lot of new bands which resemble each other making it
difficult to distinguish a clear difference between them, so the bands are constantly
in battle to have number one hits. I want my magazine to promote new and
upcoming artist which will stand out of the crowd and be recognised in our music
industry. I also added a picture of “The Tings Tings” as I also wanted to add an
unconventional and different music group and genre as I want my music magazine to
reflect individuality. I also added a picture of the front cover of “The Hoosiers” with
their hit “Goodbye Mr A” because they have the look and feel I want to have in my
magazine, I want to have acts and bands representing my music magazine. Overall
most of the pictures use dark colours and a lot of black, but also bold colours which
clearly stand out of the page such as red, yellow and pink; this is the type of style I
want my magazine to have. I believe that this mood board reflects well on the look
and feel I want my final product to have.

2. This was my first mood board, which is the mood I expected to have for my magazine
at first. I used pictures with light colours and A-list celebrity singers such as Beyonce,
Kylie Minogue and girl bands such as The Pussy Cat Dolls and Girls Aloud. I used a
mixture of American singers such as Chris Brown and English singers such as Leona
Lewis as I wanted my magazine to have a mixture of the music industry from
different countries this variety and mix would make it more appealing. I also used a
variety of different types of music such as R&B and Pop music which I think
compliments each other well; as if you like one of these genres you are very like to
like the other. Overall I felt that I wanted a different mood and feel to my final
product and changed the mood board.
