Keratoconus Treatments
An invasive, painful cornea transplant surgery is no longer the only way to treat eyesight-
damaging cornea disease keratoconus. Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler developed a much less invasive
and effective method: Holcomb C3-R. The process involves vitamin eye drop solution
application, which is activated by a special UV light. This process helps the cornea build
crosslinks to strengthen the weakened cornea and stop the progression of Keratoconus.
Holcomb C3-R can be combined with other procedures to help improve overall vision.

Keratoconus Treatments
The doctor grabbed headlines in 2010, when his patient, American Olympian Steven Holcomb,
won the gold medal along with his bobsled team. By the time Holcomb approached the doctor
in 2007, he had already tried two other routes to treat the Keratoconus, to no avail. He said that
if this third treatment did not work, he would retire from bobsledding. After the nonsurgical
procedure his vision was stable. Three months later Dr. Brian inserted a permanent contact lens,
known as Visian ICL, Holcomb had 20/20 vision. He credits Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler with giving
him the eyesight to win his gold medal.
