1. Elasticity with Amazon - Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)
Amazon offers resizable compute capacity in the cloud with name of Elastic
Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2). Amazon provides this compute capacity as web
service.
Amazon EC2 facilitates compute in the cloud. It provides simple web service
interface allows you to achieve and configure capacity with least friction. You can
have complete control on your computing resources as well as lets you run on
Amazon’s established computing environment. Amazon EC2 cut the time required
to achieve and boot new server instances to minutes, allocating you to quickly
scale capacity, mutually up and down, as your computing requirements vary.
Amazon EC2 changes the economics of computing, you need to pay only for
capacity that you really use.
So as to assist you for your own applications, I'd like to analysis various important
EC2 concepts.

2. An Amazon Machine Image (AMI) defines your operating environment, with
operating system. You can launch thousands of instances with single AMI.
Instances provide compute power and are the elementary fundamentals.
Instances are produced by launching an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) on a
exacting instance type. You can scale up or down the number of instances you are
running on demand, either manually or automatically, using AWS Auto Scaling.
Instance Types contain diverse arrangement of CPU, memory, storage, and
networking capacity and provides you the flexibility to pick the appropriate
combination of resources for your applications. Each instance type has more than
one size options that show special workload sizes. For the best practice, you
should launch on top of instance types that are the best fit for your applications.
Instance Families are set of instance types build to meet a goal. To make it easier
for you to select the best option for your applications, Amazon EC2 instance types
are grouped into families’ based on top of target application profiles.
