Tiana is a hardworking woman in New Orleans who dreams of opening her own restaurant. She kisses a frog who claims to be a prince to change him back, but she turns into a frog as well. They travel to see Mama Odie, who can break the curse. They eventually get married and share a kiss that turns them both human again. Disney portrayed Tiana as a caring and dedicated role model for inspiring young girls through her determination to achieve her dreams. The film targeted girls ages 4 and older to show that black girls could also be princesses through its fairy tale genre.
