2. INTRODUCTION
The Factories Act
1948 was an Act of
Parliament passed
in the United
Kingdom by the
Labour
government
of Clement Attlee.
It was passed with
the intention of
safeguarding the
health of worker
5. I) GENERAL PENALTY FOR OFFENCES
OFFENCES
1) Any contravention of the
provision of this act by
Occupier or manager of the
factory.
2) Contravention is continued
after conviction.
3) Contravention of any of the
provision resulted in an
accident causing death.
4) Serious bodily injury
PENALTIES
Imprisonment upto 2 years or
fine upto Rs 100,000 or both.
Rs 10000 per day.
Fine shall not be less than Rs
25000.
Rs 5000.
6. OFFENCES
II-Penalty for Obstructing
inspector.
III- Penalty for wrongfully
disclosing results of
analysis under section 91.
IV-Penalty for contravention
of the provision of
sections 41B,41C,41H in
case the failure or
contravention continues.
PENALTIES
Imprisonment 6month or fine
10,000 rupees or with both.
Imprisonment 6 month or with
fine 10,000 rupees or with
both.
Imprisonment for 7 years & with
fine which may extend to
20,000 rupees additional fine
5000 rupees for everyday
during which such failure or
contravention continues
