 Earning Rs25 at the pump ,he was
encouraged by profits from selling
bananas
 Wanted to earn extra income by selling
bananas on the street after work hours.
 In six months he did well
enough to buy a shop to hold
his stock
 Not content to have
establishment remain as a
warehouse for bananas.
 HAD BIGGER PLANS
 Decided TO START A
JUICE CENTRE
 Faithful customers –who live
in suburbs near the shop.
DIFFICULTIES
 In beginning ,business was very poor, there
would be only 15-20 customers a day
 Later during winter & monsoon months tend
to be slow, but regular customers are
undeterred regardless of the season
 Initial investment of only Rs 25/-
 Drawing a huge amount home as per 1996 –
a enterprise report in – The Asian Age
 Impressive yearly turnover - as on 1996
 Even they take catering orders for large
parties
 Juices are also supplied to marriages & other
large functions
 Word of mouth spread across
 The location of the shop made it earn more-
contributed to growth
 Business increased and now the business is
never deserted
Inpiste of number of aerated soft drinks
& tetra packs juices available the
business continues to remain on a
upwards swing.
Mr Shukla shivkumar says-
Residents who eat a good meal they go to good
restaurants but if they want juice they come
here.
 Quality is most important & it is the first
priority
 To maintain high quality standards
 Mr Shivkumar goes to Crawford market
everyday at 5.30 in the morning & handpick
choice of fruits to ensure their quality &
freshness.
 We could have expand in the area of catering
 There is lot of scope even for home delivery
as well but we have deliberately avoided to
maintain high quality & exclusivity.
