Happiness: 3 Ingredients
• See something of positive value
• Accept that positive value as good enough
for you to be pleased and satisfied with it
• Allow yourself to be happy with the positive
value you see (you think it’s ok/great to feel
happy, rather than bad/wrong)
• Example: Be happy with yourself by
combining these 3 ingredients

6. The Connection Between
Gratitude & Happiness
• Gratitude is a powerful form of positive thinking that boosts
happiness
• When you’re thankful, you’re seeing positive value in
something
• You’re also naturally accepting that positive value as good
enough for you to be pleased and satisfied with it
• All that’s missing is allowing yourself to be happy with this
positive value you see, in order to feel happy
• Example: you can be thankful for the food you have to eat, yet
think it’s wrong to be happy when so many people are starving

positive & happier every day?
• Every day, see at least one thing you can be
thankful for in your life
• Allow yourself to be happy with the positive value
you see
• Appreciate that you always have the power to be
thankful for something, for your own good and
happiness, no matter what
