The Chalk Twins are identical twin sisters Devon and Lexi who have over 10 years experience performing live chalk art at conventions. Their performances involve creating a large piece of chalk art over 10+ hours while interacting with attendees. Their art promotes appreciation for anime and manga. Conventions benefit from the Chalk Twins' interactive art which draws people in and requires minimal space. The Chalk Twins fund their appearances through guest status, print/kit sales, and corporate sponsorship.

4. Why Anime Conventions?
Anime and manga are art forms
Many of the fans that attend anime
conventions already have an appreciation for
art but have never seen it performed live
Many convention attendees are budding
artists themselves
The Chalk Twins are not just artists, they are
fans of anime

5. What does a Chalk Twins
Performance Entail? Part 1
The Chalk Twins select a piece they will draw live
during the length of the show
The piece is up to 100 sq. ft. (30 sq. mtr.) depending
on the available space, length of the show and
complexity of the piece
The piece is outlined before the show on pieces of
hardboard that can be placed on the floor at the hotel
or convention center
There is no fuss or muss. No residual chalk. No
cleanup. Fine for hotels or convention centers

6. What does a Chalk Twins
Performance Entail? Part 2
Some of the piece is completed before the show so
even the attendees that walk in early on the first day
will see a portion of the piece already in process
For 10+ hours per day the Chalk Twins work on the
piece. During this time they also interact with people.
They answer questions, talk about anime, art, twin
stuff, all while drawing. The Chalk Twins are one of the
hardest working guests you’ll see
At the end of the show the piece is sold to the highest
bidder of a silent auction. A portion of the proceeds
goes to charity

7. What do the Chalk Twins
Require?
Usually nothing more is required than an indoor
floor space in a common area – 10’ x 20’ is
adequate for most shows. The space can be an
island or against a single wall
While the Chalk Twins travel with their own display
pieces and materials a table is required for them to
display items for sale - prints of previous pieces
and chalk art starter kits
Scheduling is not required as the Chalk Twins work
almost non-stop through the entire convention

8. How are the Chalk Twins
funded?
The Chalk Twins look to three funding sources -
guest status from conventions, print sales and
corporate sponsorship
Guest status – to offset hotel and per diem
expenses
Print and Chalk Art Kit Sales – to offset travel
expenses
Corporate sponsorship – to offset materials and
marketing expenses
