The liver is a very important organ, and damage to it can lead to a variety of illnesses and health problems. Symptoms of liver ailments are yellowish eyes, loss of appetite and fatigue. Other signs are high SGPT and indigestion.

1. How to Detect Signs of Damage to the Liver
The liver performs several important functions in the body. Among them are blood
detoxification, activating enzymes, producing and excreting bile. Therefore, you should be
aware of the signs of liver problems so it can be treated early.
Indicators
One sign of liver problems is high SGPT. This is Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase,
which is found in the liver and heart. The serum is released for either organ if they are
damaged. The normal range is 0 to 35 units per liter (U/L) for adults.
Some slight deviations may exist from lab to lab. If the level is very high, the liver may be
suffering from viral hepatitis A, B, or C. It may also be caused by medications you are taking
or drink too much alcohol. Other possible causes of a high serum level are gallbladder
inflammation, congested liver blood flow or cancer.
Other Signs of Liver Problems
One of the most common liver damage symptoms is fatigue. It is normal for people to feel
tired after working. But if the liver is not functioning properly, you will feel exhausted all the
time. This is because the liver is responsible for protein processing. If the liver cannot process
proteins, they will turn toxic and weaken the body.
Indigestion and Stomach Cramps
This symptom is accompanied by intolerance of fatty foods, vomiting and constipation. These
symptoms manifest because the organ’s bile production is being affected. Poor bile
production results in indigestion.
The patient will experience lack of appetite and a feeling of bloating. However, you cannot
just rely on this single symptom alone; there are many other reasons why people suffer from
indigestion, so you should look at other signs.
Yellow Eyes
Yellowish eyes is a symptom of jaundice and indicates liver complications. Here the organ
breaks hemoglobin down. A yellowish substance called bilirubin is produced. If the liver is
sick, the substance remains confined in the organ. This produces the yellow in the eyes and
eventually the body.
How to Strengthen the Liver
Start by eating healthy food. Add fruits and vegetables to your diet. In particular, take food
that is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C. Avoid oily, greasy and high cholesterol food. Avoid
or eat in moderation fried food, especially animal skin.

2. You also have to drink a lot of water. They are more helpful than drinks with sweeteners,
chemicals and preservatives. You should also limit alcohol intake. If that is not possible,
reduce the consumption.
But if the pain is persistent and you feel other symptoms such as shortness of breath or
difficulty in breathing, persistent cough, coughing-up blood or sudden weight loss without
dieting; these could be signs of a more serious condition.
An x-ray followed by a CT scan or MRI may be required to see the condition of the lungs.
