President Obama has largely avoided commenting on the Republican presidential candidates but seized the
opportunity today to fire back at GOP claims that he has engaged in an "appeasement" foreign policy.
"Ask Osama bin Laden," Obama said at the White House.
"(Ask) the 22 out of 30 top al-Qaeda leaders who've been taken off the field whether I engage in appeasement," an icy
Obama added.
"Or whoever is left out there," he said. "Ask them about that"

In May, Obama ordered a risky U.S. Special Forces raid that killed al-Qaeda leader bin Laden in his hide-out deep
inside Pakistan, and the president has presided over drone strikes that obliterated other extremist group leaders.
But Republicans vying for their party nomination to take him on in the November 2012 election accuse Obama of not
being tough enough on Iran's nuclear drive and turning a blind eye to Middle East radical groups.
At a forum for Republican Jewish voters Wednesday, presidential candidate Rick Santorum said that for "every thug
and hooligan, for every radical Islamist, (Obama) has had nothing but appeasement."
