2. • Shri Vijay Jawaharlal Darda, known popularly as
Vijay Darda, is married and father of two children,
one son and one daughter. On July 1998, Mr. Darda
was elected Member of Rajya Sabha (Upper house)
and one month later, in August, he was a member
of Stabding Committee on Employment and Labor
Welfare and member of Consultative Committee for
the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. From
August 1998 to February 2004, Mr. Darda was also a
member of Standing Committee on Finance.
3. • Then, from August 2004 to December 2006, he
became a member of Standing Committee on
Information Technology. He was also a member of
Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Culture
in 2002.
• In 2003 onwards, Vijay Darda became
Member/Voce-President of India-Turkey
Parliamentary Friendship Group. He became also an
onward member of Indo-China Society and a
member of the Parliamentary Forum on HIV/AIDS.

5. Mr. Darda was also elected in 2003 in Nagpur as a
member of Regional Direct Taxes Advisory Committee
(RDTAC) and member of Committee on Petitions. On
July 2004, he was re-elected for the second term to
Rajya Sabha and became an onwards member of
Indo-US Parliamentary Forum and of Indo-Pakistan
Parliamentary Forum. On August 2004, Mr. Darda was
elected as member of Parliamentary Committee with
the task to review the rate of Dividend that the Indian
Railways had to pay to the General Revenues.
6. • On September 2004, Vijay Darda became a member of
Railway Convention Committee. From October 2004 to
October 2006, he became a member of Konkan
Railways Users Consultative Committee for the Ministry
of Railways. In 2005, he joined the Consultative
Committee for the Ministry of Information and
Broadcasting and Ministry of Culture. He became also a
member of Indo-Japan Parliamentary Forum in
February 2005. Three months later, on May 2005, Mr.
Darda became a member of Hindi Salahakar Samity
linked to the Ministry of Company Affairs.
