career as an E-1, but this could change depending on

weekend a month and two weeks a year, but do
receive full pay and allowances when they’re placed
on active duty.

find locally.

• Additionally, National Guard families and soldiers can
shop at the post Commissary.
• The Commissary is a full grocery store that features
the same products found in civilian grocery stores.

soldiers can save as much as 30%.

Life Insurance
• Citizen soldiers are eligible for up to $400,000 in life
insurance through the Servicemembers’ Group Life
Insurance.
• This is a budget-friendly life insurance plan.
• Family members are also eligible for Family

doesn’t require a health screening or questionnaire
to ensure coverage.
