Success formula
1. Success Formula-Know Your Inner Game
Not knowing what is truly going on in your inner world can prevent
you from creating the outer success that you may be seeking.
Today, I wanted to share some of my most powerful coaching insights
and tools that I used this week to help my clients know raise their
awareness about their inner game. The process that I take them
through helps them get a step closer towards achieving their desired
outcomes...
The truth is, when you truly acknowledge your inner game, you
become King for your kingdom, the driver of your car and the master
of your soul.
Let's dive right in,
#1. Get Clear with your Values
The truth is that your values determine the choices you make. They determine what you think as wrong
or as right. Not knowing your values impacts all areas of your life.
Take a pen and paper and write down your top 10 values, for instance: Love, compassion, peace, family,
money, friendship, trust, etc. Once you do so, write down what you did today and see if the choices you
made were aligned to what you value most.
This week I coached few clients who wanted to make a £10K income every month. Through series of
questions I took the client on an inner journey to look deeper of why he was not making this kind of
money.
As he wrote down all the reasons, the clarity he got at the end of the process was that it was not money
he valued most, but family, friends and other daily activities that distracted him from focusing on
making the money he was after.
The moral of the story is, to make money, one most value money and make money their number one
priority. If we don’t, most likely we will not receive the money we want and our daily actions and
decisions are not aligned to it either.
2. #2. Get Your Routines Right
Not having a daily routine of what you need to do towards the success you
want to create will not support you in achieving that goal. Ultra-
productive producers focus less on using their willpower and a lot more
on building their routines.
When I wrote my book I started writing every day between 11pm and
4 am, whether I was motivated or not. I would simply focus, drink a
huge cup of coffee, meditate for 10 minutes, get into the state and
would start writing.
Having a ritual helped me trigger my imagination, got me into daily doing
and it kick-started my inspiration.
This week I had a business coaching session with the Founder of Move Play Explore. The focus of the
session was to look at all the obstacles that prevented him to take his business at the next level. We
examined his values and at the end of the session he created a list and a routine to support him in
creating the monthly income he wanted.
What helped him most is taking him through a find your value exercise to see how his obstacles where
simply a reflection of what he valued.
So, if you want to achieve what you want, first step is to get clear of what you want, align your values
with what you want and finally create the routines that support these values.
And please remember that inspiration isn't some random event. No, it's an organized result.
#3. Allow yourself to have “me” time
The world that we live is noisy, fast paced and demanding. Daily we
are bombarded with so much information; we learn to forget how to
truly listen to what is truly happening inside of ourselves. We have
become busy bees that constantly search for something.
This can drain our energy and can have a detrimental impact on our
wellbeing. To be operating at your peak, one must take time to
recharge their batteries. In the same way that a car needs to have its
battery charged and fuel tank refilled, your body needs to have that
“me” time to recharge and get energised.
#4. Enjoy Being Unpopular
Of course I do know what it feels like to be unpopular. Part of being human involves a need to be liked,
to fit in or under any circumstance to avoid conflict. This neurobiological need served us when we lived
3. on the savannah hundreds of years ago. If we strayed from the herd, we'd be eaten by tigers. Or die of
starvation.
We have kept this need for thousands of year, the problem is now we're in a world without the same
threats and yet we have not let go of this need. We live in a world with a staggering array of comforts.
Yet we still work and live in a way designed to sustain the approval of all those around us.
Here's my real point: you can do world-class work. Or you can please everyone around you. But you
can't do both.
The very nature of being massively productive and creating masterful output means you'll have to block
out all the emails asking for immediate responses, turn off your mobile demanding your attention and
say no to a ton of social obligations that only serve to distract you from the body of work that will raise
you to iconic.
And this means people will be unhappy. But the full expression of your gifts, talents and genius into the
world is more than worth the disapproval you'll attract. Actually, your mastery demands it.
#5. Value Pain
I know this one won't be popular with most people. But whoever said
you're playing at "most people level"...
We live in a society that sells us easy. Anything that seems hard or
uncomfortable or messy is called bad.
And the quick-fix, pleasurable and fast is considered good. But here's
the thing: every master suffers. And to become the single most
productive person you know, you'll have to accept some pain along
the path. As you may know Van Gogh remained mostly anonymous
his entire life, only reaching fame after his death. Yet, he kept on
producing his art.
For many years I was considered a misfit, eccentric and told I am not good enough. Yet, nothing
stopped me from my monomaniacal pursuit of becoming world-class Elite Life Coach and Master Healer.
I guess what I'm suggesting is that every visionary is initially ridiculed and later revered. When I told my
family I am writing a book, no one took me seriously. Year down the line when they came to my book
launch, the very same people who ridiculed me now told me how proud they were. My book “A Path to
Wisdom-how to live a balanced, healthy and peaceful life” is now taking an international momentum. I
was even interviewed on a satellite TV and the “Carpe Diem” show was seen by millions of viewers
including my own family.
4. Every artist, chef, manager, athlete, entrepreneur and scientist committed to mastery faces criticism as
they pursue originality, cynicism as they hunt their passion and condemnation as they chase their
commitment.
And so they suffer for their dream, knowing that... ...the thing that's easiest to do is rarely the thing
that's the best thing to do.
#6. Do what you truly Love, Versus Fake Work
Most people go to work to earn a living. The very few follow their
intuition and create the work they love doing. Really important
distinction here, the average producers confuse activity with
productivity.
They think movement equals effectiveness.
And they get trapped into spending the best hours of their best days
climbing mountains only to realize that at the end of the day they
scaled the wrong ones.
To do what we love, first of all we must go in our inner world and learn to listen to the voice that knows.
The voice that sits in your heart and daily is telling you to take action. Most people have forgotten and
fear to listen to this voice.
For instance, as I was coaching my client this week in Regents Park, he became aware that his daily
activities were filled with checking email first thing in the morning, pushing paper, doing senseless
meetings and engaging in administrative tasks. This prevented him from truly focusing in creating
remarkable value. All of these are all examples of doing fake work...
...the kind of work designed to make you feel like you're getting big things done but actually dig you
deeper into the hole of mediocrity and overwhelm you.
At my upcoming weekend residential retreat in autumn, I'll walk all the participants from all walks of life
through my advanced ideas on elite productivity so they get more important things done in a week than
most people get done in a quarter.
But for now, please allow me to share my book http://www.apathtowisdom.com, many who have read
it and are reading it right now have created huge breakthroughs.
...for the next 30 days, spend the first 30 minutes of your workday on your #1 Know Your Values, get
really clear on what values drive you and become congruent with those.
Just stop doing any fake work first thing in the morning. Check your email after lunch. Make your phone
calls in the afternoon. Surf the Net in the evening.
5. Massive productivity isn't the result of one revolutionary act. Instead, it's actually the result of going
within, of knowing yourself at deeper level. It’s a result of supertiny daily wins that come from within
you, from listening to the voice that knows.
