2. Piercing Statistics
35.4% of respondents were employed despite
having piercings.
75.6% of respondents with piercings were
atheist.
80.4% of respondents with piercing were male
at the ages of 18-25.
3.
4. • 58.8% of respondents felt uncomfortable
with being served by someone with a
piercing at a restaurant.
• 75.3% of respondents that had piercings had
a high school diploma
• 82.3% of respondents were caucasian
5.
6. 100% of respondents felt that generally,
chances of getting a job are hindered if you
have a lot of piercings.
Some respondents specified that the piercings
that actually hurt your chances are
facial/visible piercings.
7. Conclusion
According to the results of the survey,
employers prefer interviewees that have
little/no piercings showing. Out of the 35
people that responded, 29 respondents were
atheist. 25 of these respondents were male. On
average, most people who get piercings are
male and have no religious preference. Most
employers tended to discriminate against those
who had superfluous piercings.
8. Conclusions
The majority of the respondents felt that if
piercings were kept in moderation, and
preferably off the face, that chances would be
better for getting a job while being interviewed.
Employers can legally prohibit wearing
piercings at work, unless the piercing is given a
religious reason, like hindu nose rings.
9. Conclusions
Employers are less likely to hiring someone
with abundant piercings mostly because it is
seen as unprofessional and employers are
concerned with how their company is viewed.
10. Recommendations
Those with a myriad of visible piercings should
avoid showing up to interviews wearing
piercings. Even when hired, employees should
most likely avoid coming to work wearing
abundance piercings unless otherwise specified
