How to give the audience what they want to hear in a presentation. I recently attended a presentation by a s/ware company in the role of the Key User of sales management functionality. I was bored to death by the sales person, in spite of knowing and wanting to buy the product. Why?: - half the presentation was on what else the company did ( I don't care. My agenda was simple. I wanted to form an opinion on the product we wanted to buy) - the focus of the presentation was not on the product but on the implementation methodology. (I wasn't at this point yet. I needed product info) - The presenter got into a discussion comparing his product with the competition and wasted 20% of our time on arguing his opinion which pissed off our staff as we were being shown that we knew nothing about his product - how could we. He wasn't giving us the presentation!) So I wrote o a quickfix presentation. Hope you enjoy it.
