LTE Roadmap 2010-2015 - Towards 4G: The next generation
technology in waiting offering medium to long term high margin
growth opportunities

                                                                                                                                              Report Summary

Report Details
LTE is one of the most promising stepping stone technologies towards 4th generation mobile networks. Many wireless network
operators believe that LTE offers the best value proposition to increase network capacity, improve QoS and significantly enhance data
rates while reducing the TCO (total cost of ownership).

The big question that needs to be analysed by operators before formulating any LTE strategy is whether customers are ready to
accept LTE and pay extra dollars for high speed mobile broadband and related services. This report looks into this question in depth,
taking into account current upward trends in demand for mobile data and multimedia content, and whether current technologies can
sustain future growth in demand for bandwidth and capacity, should those trends persist.

Throughout the developed parts of the world technologies such as 3GPP LTE and HSPA are expected to make a huge impact.
Facing congestion and pressures on available bandwidth, HSPA operators will begin upgrading to LTE in 2009/2010 with subscribers
exceeding 250 million by the year 2015.

The report tackles vital questions such as:

' What is the potential for LTE, what are the ROI and payback periods associated with LTE'
' Which regulators/countries are likely to approve this standard and when'
' What are the advantages and disadvantages of LTE'
' Will the evolution of LTE to LTE Advanced deliver a genuine 4G experience to the market'
' Technologically, what will it take to allow operators to offer LTE' Approximately, what will this cost'
' Strategies of the top infrastructure suppliers in the LTE domain
' What are the strategies of the top handset vendors to offering LTE devices'
' Timeframes for LTE handset availability
' What results are the LTE trials in progress showing'
' Which operators have voiced an interest for LTE' Will all operators adopt this standard'
' Which operators will not adopt LTE and why'
' How large a role will technologies such as MIMO and OFDM play a role in the LTE roadmap towards 4G in the form of LTE
Advanced' Will their implementation ensure a smooth migration for operational mobile networks from LTE to 4G'
' How widely will it be adopted and by when' The report offers subscriber forecasts 2009/2010-2014/2015 by regions i.e. Europe,
North America, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East'
' Will LTE generate more revenues for operators and vendors'

LTE Roadmap 2010-2015 - Towards 4G: The next generation technology in waiting offering medium to long term high margin growth opportunities

  • 1. Find Industry reports, Company profiles ReportLinker and Market Statistics >> Get this Report Now by email! LTE Roadmap 2010-2015 - Towards 4G: The next generation technology in waiting offering medium to long term high margin growth opportunities Published on December 2009 Report Summary Report Details LTE is one of the most promising stepping stone technologies towards 4th generation mobile networks. Many wireless network operators believe that LTE offers the best value proposition to increase network capacity, improve QoS and significantly enhance data rates while reducing the TCO (total cost of ownership). The big question that needs to be analysed by operators before formulating any LTE strategy is whether customers are ready to accept LTE and pay extra dollars for high speed mobile broadband and related services. This report looks into this question in depth, taking into account current upward trends in demand for mobile data and multimedia content, and whether current technologies can sustain future growth in demand for bandwidth and capacity, should those trends persist. Throughout the developed parts of the world technologies such as 3GPP LTE and HSPA are expected to make a huge impact. Facing congestion and pressures on available bandwidth, HSPA operators will begin upgrading to LTE in 2009/2010 with subscribers exceeding 250 million by the year 2015. The report tackles vital questions such as: ' What is the potential for LTE, what are the ROI and payback periods associated with LTE' ' Which regulators/countries are likely to approve this standard and when' ' What are the advantages and disadvantages of LTE' ' Will the evolution of LTE to LTE Advanced deliver a genuine 4G experience to the market' ' Technologically, what will it take to allow operators to offer LTE' Approximately, what will this cost' ' Strategies of the top infrastructure suppliers in the LTE domain ' What are the strategies of the top handset vendors to offering LTE devices' ' Timeframes for LTE handset availability ' What results are the LTE trials in progress showing' ' Which operators have voiced an interest for LTE' Will all operators adopt this standard' ' Which operators will not adopt LTE and why' ' How large a role will technologies such as MIMO and OFDM play a role in the LTE roadmap towards 4G in the form of LTE Advanced' Will their implementation ensure a smooth migration for operational mobile networks from LTE to 4G' ' How widely will it be adopted and by when' The report offers subscriber forecasts 2009/2010-2014/2015 by regions i.e. Europe, North America, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East' ' Will LTE generate more revenues for operators and vendors' This information is available nowhere else.
