Gary the
           Gravel
I was a piece of gravel named Gary the gravel. I was a
chip of the old gravel. While other particles of the gravel that
I and my family were, he wanted to get away from the piece
of gravel that he and his family made up. I was never careful
for what he wished for. That proved to be a mistake.

One day, me and my family were resting on the top of the
mountain, next to an oak tree, when the oak tree dug his roots
into me, and separated me from my family. Since I weighed
less, and it was a hot day, the mountain expanded and I flew
off. I landed on the top of another spike. It was freezing!
When it was warm again, I thawed.50 of my atoms cracked
off. It was a bad day for me.

When my atoms cracked, I fell right into the river! I had
250 or so atoms left! I rushed down at 63 degree angle. 59
miles per hour! It was not a pretty sight. I lost about 60 more
atoms. I fell into a mature river. It streamed around to a wind
at an old river.
The old river was curved a lot. There were about 3
oxbow lakes running by. It was slower than the other parts of
the river. I took a nap. While regaining strength, I didn't know
that I was heading toward a delta. When I was there, I was
still sleeping. I needed the rest.

When I reached the delta, there were like four passages
into the ocean. I chose the one on the left. When I fell down,
the rest stopped. The waves crashed around me and I was
rocked around. I arrived at a beach. It looked lifeless.

Maybe it was the fact that it was the middle of winter.
Maybe it was the fact that it was 12:00 p.m. Nobody was at
the beach. I rested as just 50 atoms. Just 50 atoms. I was
small. I became a regular grain of sand. Not a particle of
gravel. A grain of sand.
