NEW MUSEUM DIRECTOR FOR THE
MUSEUM OF CHINESE AUSTRALIAN HISTORY LTD
The Board of Chinese Museum is pleased to announce that it has appointed Peter Selinger as
Museum Director.
Peter is a well-known and respected leader in the Leisure, Tourism and Exhibition sector, including
nine years with the internationally respected Tussauds Group in the UK (managing several hundred
staff). He has served on industry boards in the UK and Queensland, and most recently held the
position of Head of Commercial and Visitor Services at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image
(ACMI).
He was raised in Hong Kong until the age of 18 and in his work career has enjoyed opportunities to
travel throughout Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and other parts of South East Asia. He has a Bachelor of
Economics Degree with Honours in Industry & Trade from the London School of Economics, and
migrated to Australia in 2002.
Peter brings a high level of program development, innovation and business management, with
demonstrated ability to settle into a new location and strengthen relationships with stakeholders
such as government and community organisations. He has strong connections across the Arts
Festivals sector and has a proven capacity to build alliances and partnerships with other
organisations.
With plans to develop and expand the Chinese Museum by creating new programs and reaching out
to new audiences, Peter’s motivation and energy, coupled with his many years of Management
experience in this area, will assist in bringing this to fruition.
