Scientists have devised a new type of electronic chip that mimics the
human brain and could lead to a new generation of powerful, energy-
efficient electronics. Researchers at the University of Twente in
Netherlands have created the electronic circuits using methods that
resemble Darwinian evolution. The size of these circuits is comparable
to the size of their conventional counterparts, but they are much closer
to natural networks like the human brain. Researchers have used
networks of gold nanoparticles for the execution of essential
computational tasks, moving away from designed circuits. They
anticipate it will be a breakthrough in portable electronics and medical
world. The research was published in the journal Nature
