Parker's high power AC Variable Frequency Drives are engineered to perform in the offshore and land based sectors. Suitable for application to new equipment or to retrofit outdated motor controls on older rigs, the Parker AC890PX VFD will control electric top drives, draw works, mud pumps, hydraulic power units (HPU), or hoisting mechanisms through 2000 HP. With control room space at a premium, the AC890PX's compact design is advantageous. This high power density is made possible by Parker's unique liquid cooling system. Using non-conductive, non-corrosive refrigerant in a two-phase evaporative process allows for an energy efficient cooling system that eliminates the need for conventional air conditioners. By virtue of its modular design, the AC890PX is easily serviceable, with low MTTR. Lightweight IGBT power modules can be changed out in 15 minutes or less, with power and refrigerant connections made by quick-connect fittings on the back of the modules. Line regenerative models are available for the ultimate in system energy efficiency. In addition to the AC890PX, Parker offers a wide range of motor control products including inverters for low to medium power applications, DC SCR drives and DC stack controllers for repower applications.
