The Benefits of a Clean Environment for Everyone

Recycling in Brisbane is the process of collecting,
                                                  categorizing and processing recyclable materials,
rather than allowing them to add up to the already
over-abundant mountains of trash in landfills. The
mission of recycling is to reduce the amount of trash
we make each day and reuse previously used
substances and materials again and again.

A plastic bottle that was once used to drink water
out of can be reused for another liquid or it can be
recycled and processed to make a completely new
substance altogether. This in turn allows the use of
the bottle to be extended and is one less object to
add to landfills. Recycling includes collecting and
sorting wasted materials, processing those materials
if they cannot be immediately reused, and finally putting the new products made from the old materials
on the market.

There are many advantages for yourself, your family and the environment overall if you choose to
recycle in Brisbane:

   1. You conserve limited resources
         a. Raw materials such as coal and metal ores are allowed to remain untouched and they’re
not disturbed from their natural setting. This in turn also won’t need hundreds of miners
to put their lives at risk digging out the earth’s raw materials. On an additional note, we
won’t need to cut down trees or extinguish large acres of rainforests and woodland
areas for the sake of producing more paper.
   2. You promote energy efficiency
         a. How do you think new materials are made? Depending on what the raw substances that
are scavenged are, they need to be extracted, processed, transported and at times
melted in order to gain the final substances needed to make a new product. Money,
time and a vast amount of energy are necessary for this process.
   3. You help protect the environment
         a. By decreasing the amount of things that we toss in the garbage, we also reduce the
chances that toxins and other materials find themselves either seeping into the waters
and soil of the land, or becoming digested by other animals or come into contact with
humans. Furthermore, the quantity of contaminants and chemicals that are released
into the ecosystem by incinerator plants or landfills is lessened.
   4. You become a part of a building and growing community
a. When people stick together to o achieve a common goal such as recycling, the cause is
even stronger than having one person doing it alone. You, your family, your friends and
your neighbors can all work together towards reducing, reusing and recycling materials
that don’t really need to add to the already heavy heap of garbage that leaves our
           homes on a daily basis.
5. Recycling creates many more jobs
      a. Landfills and incinerator plants need at most a dozen hands and a few machines to get
the work done. Machines are in fact doing most of the work while the people are the
ones guiding them. When recycling, however, more people than machines are necessary
so that they collect and categorize the recyclable materials. Machines are there only to
process reusable substances into new ones but the most important process of
organizing what materials go where is left up to the workers. Where landfills need six
people to churn the earth and hide trash, the recycling industry needs at least twenty
           people to classify recyclables.
