Annual Meeting
Agenda:
7. Association activities are under the jurisdiction of federal and state antitrust laws. These laws regulate trade
and commerce to prohibit unlawful restraints and to promote competition. NADRA requires that all its activities
be conducted strictly in accordance with these laws. The most critical antitrust violation is the charge of price-
fixing.
Under the Sherman Act, members of associations are prohibited from reaching any understanding that affects
the price of a product, regardless of the purpose of the understanding. For example, members should never
discuss current or future prices, or what constitutes a fair profit level. However, it is permissible to discuss
methods by which a company may become more profitable by acquiring better knowledge of its own costs, or
summarizing effective methods of marketing or purchasing.
Mere Attendance at a meeting where competitors discuss their prices is sufficient to imply involvement. If such
a conversation should take place during a meeting, as a NADRA member, your recourse is to stand up and
attempt to stop the discussion, explain the anti-trust issue and its consequences. If the dialog persists, state
your objection to the discussion and leave the room.

I am proud to be involved with NADRA CPAC and pleased to announce the launch of the NADRA CPAC Deck board program.
About 4 years ago that NADRA was appointed by the industry at large to implement consumer product performance label program.
From the start many members rallied “to many to try and mention” and volunteered their time and got involved. These folks “got it”! On the need and opportunity and NADRA more then any other association has the pool of talent to design a solid vehicle to help the consumer make “informed choices” while also helping manufacture market their product attributes plus “raising the bar” for the entire industry!
It was a tall order but I think you’ll agree that with everyone's help we are getting it done!
Over the past year NTA along with a dedicated technical committee of manufactures and industry consultants have invested many hours meticulously defining the deck board program’s testing specification so to leverages proven cost effective methods while also being relevant to the consumer.
The other good news is this is just the beginning and more NADRA CPAC product programs will follow!

MFR – self regulation vs government regulation

The National Technology Transfer and Advancement Act (NTTAA) directs Federal agencies to adopt voluntary consensus standards wherever possible (avoiding development of unique government standards) and establishes reporting requirements. NIST roles have the following objectives:
Guide government agencies in conductingand reporting on standards and conformity assessment activities.
Promote the use of standards developed by non-government organizations.
Coordinate with Federal, state, and local agencies to foster greater reliance on voluntary consensus standards.
A round of applause to all of the NADRA CPAC committee development partners and their companies who supported the resources needed. This truly dedicated team of industry experts have all contributed and have been instrumental in designing this CPAC deck board specification.
