2. When creating the radio trailer I thought that it was important to research existing radio trailers to get a feel of what a typical trailer would sound like. We chose this as our second ancillary task as it was a new challenge and would be quite interesting to make. I chose examples within the drama genre as it would link to my other research as well as my film.
3. Example 1: ‘127 Hours’ Begins with sound bites from the film and music with a strong beat. The music relates to the drama and builds up tension along with the clips from the film. Me and my partner decided to do a similar thing and use clips from our film in the trailer as we feel it is a trailer convention that must be followed.
4. Example 2: ‘For Coloured Girls’ This trailer is effective as it begins with a voiceover from one of the characters and it has added non-diagetic sound for a more dramatised effect. The backing song chosen is effective as well because the lyrics relate to the theme of the film (pain, sadness). We felt that the use of non-diagetic sound would not be effective within our trailer and could end up sounding amateurish.
5. Additions I felt that it would be a great addition to add in audience responses of the film into the trailer as it entices people to want to go and watch it.
