Another challenging year ahead…
The “Millennium Super Cycle” from 2003-
2011 was an unprecedented period of
growth and investment. The urgency to
bring production to market quickly
stretched people and project resources.
Now metal prices have declined and even if
some experts say that we are towards the
bottom of the market, the mining industry
is left with the legacy of high costs,
declining ore quality and less efficient
operating practices. More than ever, it
needs to focus on saving costs and improve
productivity.
Resource is a key asset and at Yaoni
Consulting we understand that geological
modeling and resource calculations are
crucial to help you minimize risks and make
the right decision at every stage of your
project.
That means apply state-of-the-art
methods, review current procedures,
identify possible avenues for improvement
and implement them.

As a Resource Geologist with 10 years operational experience, member of the Australasian
Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) and an expert with SURPAC, I can assist you with:
Modeling your orebody in 3D using SURPAC ;
Implementing the best resource
estimation technique for your
deposit, including conditional
simulation ;
Writing technical reports
Implementing SURPAC scripts to
automatize your procedures ;
Reconciliation between estimation
and actual production ;
Exploring effective solutions to
reduce the gap between estimation
and actual production (SMU size,
grade control spacing, possible bias
between drill holes…)

Aug. 2010 – Feb 2014 Koniambo Nickel SAS (Glencore-SMSP), New
Caledonia.
Industrial and mining project worth US$7 billion which will produce 60 000t of
Nickel/year by 2015.
I joined the team before operations started as a Resource geologist. I launched all
drilling activities (objective of 90 000m/year), put the teams in place (about 10
technicians plus about 30 sub-contractors), developed all systems for data
acquisition (including acQuire drillhole database), started an exploration program
and put in place all the procedures and systems to process grade control drilling
and update Resources (Competent Person as per JORC Code).
I started studies to evaluate the use of conditional simulation for this deposit.
4. Work history January 2007- August 2010 Eramet-SLN, New Caledonia.
Exploration geologist in charge of the Tontouta domain.
Mapping, surface sampling, drillhole planning, management of geophysics and
drilling campaigns in remote areas (systematic use of helicopters).
Modeling and Resource calculation.
May – November 2006 RSG Global (now Coffey Mining), Botswana.
Exploration geologist. DDH rig management and logging of about 10 000m of
