How does your
  Media product
represent particular
   social groups?
As Media homework by Maddy Ryder
This is our magazine: These are the people who (we hope) would be
willing to spend hard-earned pocket money on it:

Our music magazine is aimed at teenagers – kids
aged 14 -18 – who follow new, popular artists
                                   and music.
My magazine represents a range
of genres, focusing mainly on The most popular genre of music
                                       that our target audience are
Pop interested in are rock, pop and
indie. These are the genres we will
                                   cover because following the idea
that 'genre is dead' as said by
                                  Bauer, my research confirms that
Rock 'as access to music has become
                                       more universal for even less
                                   fanatical musical listeners, music
                                     consumption is less stringently
                                   defined by genres as consumers
                                      cherry pick their journey‘. My
                                 target audience like many different
And Indie genres, but I have picked rock pop
and indie because they are the
                                      most popular amongst them.
20 males and females aged 14 –
18 to completed a questionnaire. I
was unsure which colours to use
because I wanted to appeal to
both genders so the questionnaire
 asked the target audience which
they preffered. The colours which
 were initially thought of, purple
      green and white, were
    popular, with purple being
 popular with females and green
  being popular with males. We
have decided to use white as a
  neutral background colour and
hints of green and purple so that
there isn't too much of one or the
other and there is a fair balance.
