Blas Infante was a teacher born in 1883 in Casares, Spain who fought for workers' rights and the independence of Andalusia. He wrote the Andalusian anthem and wanted to establish autonomy for the region. Infante went to prison for his beliefs and ultimately died for defending freedom of speech and the rights of the poor in 1936.
