2. Front Cover Analysis
(How will I use this information?)
From the analysis I learnt about the main features
that appear most often on front covers. This gave
me ideas for what I should have on mine. The
layouts are often very similar and so this also gives
me a good starting point of how I can lay out
everything on my front cover. Completing this task
has given me ideas and starting points which will
help me develop other ideas and be able to develop
my front cover as well as I can with the help of
other magazines. By taking information from other
magazines it’ll help me to be able to reach the
production of my front cover whilst also being able
to appeal to the target audience.
3. Contents Page Analysis
(How will I use this information?)
Like the front cover analysis the contents page analysis
helped me with ideas for a layout for my own contents. I
looked at a variety of two page and one page contents
page so this has given me an idea into how many pages
looks best and how to design my layout depending on the
amount of pages to choose. It has also helped me figure
out what to write about the contents of the magazine as
this is something I found hard describing in my college
magazine. By figuring this out with the help of this
analysis I will be able to make my contents page look a lot
more professional than my college magazine contents
page as there will be much more description.
4. Double Page Spread Analysis
(How will I use this information?)
By analyzing different double page spreads I had
the chance to find ideas for layouts and types of
articles to write. From this work I will take layout
ideas and use the different types to help create
my DPS mock-ups.
