10. The What?! Truck
• The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck is the brainchild of Douglas
Quint (a professional bassoonist) and his partner, Bryan
Petroff.
• The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck began rolling the streets of New
York City in June 2009.
• With a wink and a nod to the classic ice cream truck, our
menu combines high-quality soft-serve ice cream with
imaginative toppings.
• These are dispensed the way ice cream should be — with
humor and good cheer.

26. SAUCY
Marination Mobile is Seattle’s sauciest food truck. Founded
in 2009, Marination specializes in Hawaiian and Korean curb
cuisine that is always fast, usually marinated in a signature
sauce, frequently served in a tortilla, and mostly healthy.
Our rolling street kitchen is a righteous destination for
carnivores and vegetarians alike. Daily location will be
posted on the website and last-minute changes will come via
Twitter (most likely. If we get a flat tire or something, the
Twitter feed might lag a few minutes behind. Greasy tire hands
+ iPhone = sad face.)
34. “They are simple and complex at the same time,
show a complete disregard for any stodgy notions
of how food is supposed to taste, and (the best
part) come to you on wheels—provided, of
course, you’re in the neighborhood that
Marination Mobile is cruising on any given day.”

SW: When did you start cooking?
Kamala: A year ago, when we opened.
We’re not trained chefs. We’ve never been
to culinary school. We’ve never held a
cooking position. We hired people who
know what they’re doing.
