Menopause and diet

As someone aptly said, let your food be your medicine, this adage does not ring truer then when we are
dealing with the ravages of menopause. When you make up your mind to eat right you will definitely
manage to ease the various discomforts of menopause including hot flashes, bloating, and mood swings.
The menopause diet is all about achieving a balance by eating certain types of food while foregoing
others. The right balance can alleviate most symptoms and make the individual simply feel better. The
more natural the foods you eat the better since cooking and processing kills so many of the important
ingredients in our foods. We begin by recommending fruits such as melon and citrus since they are high
in potassium and balance sodium and water retention. People should also include dried fruit like
apricots and figs.

 As you move on you will want to enjoy vegetables including yams, collard greens, and broccoli may also
make menopause more pleasant. Soy products, seaweed, and oily fish like tuna and salmon are some
other beneficial foods that can help make this diet successful. You will note the lack of fattening foods
and complex carbohydrates and like many diets; people are encouraged to minimize the consumption of
such foods and food groups. Doing so will provide your body with a more chemically appealing balance
and, hopefully, alleviate some of the symptoms typically associated with menopause.

will balance the entire effects of menopause. However, being healthy and feeling good about oneself is
certainly not going to hurt a woman during menopause. Therefore the best thing for one to do is

small, tasty meals. Rather than make drastic lifestyle modifications, this plan teaches people to choose
low-fat, low- cholesterol foods that are packed with flavor and will leave them feeling fulfilled. The
