Pride in Purpose
National Employment Week
Sigmar Recruitment launched National Employment Week in 2011 to set the
agenda on major employment and social topics in Ireland through a series of
seminars, focus groups and forums. The focal point of the week is The Talent
Summit, one of the largest HR conferences in Ireland.

Ireland Gateway To Europe
Sigmar Recruitment are one of the founding companies of Ireland Gateway To
Europe, an annual privately funded Foreign Direct Investment mission to the
USA. The aim of this initiative is to attract US companies to Ireland and create
jobs.
Since 2012 this private
sector trade mission of
30 companies has hosted
events in Chicago, Atlanta,
Notre Dame, New York,
Boston, San Francisco and
Silicon Valley.

The Employment Leadership Group (ELG)
Sigmar established the Employment Leadership Group in association with CIPD.
Its purpose is to provide a cohesive approach by businesses to address the
problem of unemployment.
This group, made up of 200 of Ireland’s top HR business leaders, is the most
influential employment group ever assembled in Ireland and its aim is to
capitalise on its collective influence by impacting job creation. It counts the
employment leaders of companies such as Alkermes, Diageo, Twitter, Monster
and PayPal as its members.

The objective of the Employer Leadership Group is to provide
direction and support to job creation stakeholders to include
Government, employers, jobseekers and education.
The group, chaired by Sigmar Director Robert Mac Giolla
Phádraig, meets at regular intervals to discuss the main
issues surrounding employment and what private industry
can do collectively to foster positivity and stimulate
employment.

Presidential Forum on Employment
Sigmar hosted a Presidential Employment Forum with six of the Presidential
candidates in advance of the 2011 election to highlight the role of employment
in Ireland’s social and economic recovery.

Sigmar has been very fortunate in our success to date. It is our policy to give
back to the community through our expertise and resources.

throughout the year to
raise money for our chosen
charity.

Sigmar co-designed and delivered a jobs expo and career masterclass
in the RDS Dublin for the Labour Market Council in 2014. 60 companies
exhibited and 1700 jobseekers attended.

“Dress Code” was organised by Sigmar Recruitment
to raise money for Dress for Success Dublin, a
charity who promote the economic independence
of women by facilitating their entrance or return to
the workplace by supplying work attire, interview
coaching and career mentoring.
Dress Code Charity Fashion Show
Dress Code, a Sigmar run charity fashion show, showcased the biggest names on
the Irish fashion scene in October 2015. The event was hosted by Irish designer
and broadcaster Sonia Lennon and Sigmar COO, Robert Mac Giolla Phádraig at
the Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin.

Thought Leadership
As leaders in the recruitment space, Sigmar regularly partner with government
organisations, industry bodies and employer groups on numerous events and
initiatives.

Trade Mission to India
Robert Mac Giolla Phádraig (Sigmar) led a trade mission in February 2015 to five cities in India over a week long trip. The delegation was made up of IDA
Ireland, Sigmar Recruitment, EisnerAmper Ireland and Bank of Ireland.

This networking and learning group, established by Sigmar, is made up of 40 heads of multinational technology companies who regularly meet to discuss

National Recruitment Federation
As Vice President of the National Recruitment Federation (2015-2016), Sigmar COO Frank Farrelly (centre) is responsible for establishing and maintaining

RTÉ Local Heroes
Local Heroes - A Town Fights Back was a six-part television series which followed the people of Drogheda as they came together to take their economic future
into their own hands and start the fight-back for jobs alongside Senator Feargal Quinn and an assembled team of experts including Sigmar CCO Robert Mac
Giolla Phádraig. Sigmar developed an FDI strategy ‘Invest Drogheda’ that resulted in Drogheda’s twinning with Salinas, California and three US investments.
Shaping Government Policy For Jobseekers
Sigmar led two CEO level thought leadership focus groups in 2014 on new Government re-skilling and job activation programmes JobsPlus and Skills To Work.
We had representatives there from the Department of Social Protection, Education, Higher Education Authority, JobBridge, JobsPlus, Springboard, Skillnets, ICT
Conversion Programme and Momentum along with 50 HR business leaders. This was the first time all programmes had come together in one room. Pictured: Mary

The Sigmar Job Creation Initiative
The Sigmar Job Creation Initiative, presented to Government in April 2010, is a 10 point plan comprising practical recommendations from employers including the
heads of companies such as Cadbury, Elan, Glanbia and Hertz among many others. The prime objective of each initiative is to create jobs and remove barriers for
jobseekers. Each initiative defines specific benefits for all stakeholders; employers, jobseekers and the government. Pictured: Adrian McGennis (Sigmar).
Hosting Digital Assets in Ireland
Sigmar CEO Adrian McGennis (pictured) launched the “Hosting Digital Assets in Ireland” report in November 2014. The report, in association with Host in
Ireland, examined the availibility of ICT Talent in Ireland and the employment impact of setting up data centres in an area.
Export Ireland Initiative
“Export Ireland” was a Sigmar initiative to brief Irish organisations about the numerous, and largely untapped, opportunities in emerging markets. Pictured:

Guest Lectures to Students
Sigmar Directors regularly give guest lectures on HR and employment topics to international students on placement in Ireland from Boston College and Notre
Dame University.
Industry Recognition
Sigmar have won over 35 awards for recruitment excellence and workplace culture. We are the only agency in Ireland to win “Recruitment Agency of the Year
(Large)” at the National Recruitment Federation awards twice in a row and have regularly been listed among the top places to work in Ireland and Europe.

  • 23. The Employment Leadership Group (ELG) Sigmar established the Employment Leadership Group in association with CIPD. Its purpose is to provide a cohesive approach by businesses to address the problem of unemployment. This group, made up of 200 of Ireland’s top HR business leaders, is the most influential employment group ever assembled in Ireland and its aim is to capitalise on its collective influence by impacting job creation. It counts the employment leaders of companies such as Alkermes, Diageo, Twitter, Monster and PayPal as its members.

The group, chaired by Sigmar Director Robert Mac Giolla Phádraig, meets at regular intervals to discuss the main issues surrounding employment and what private industry can do collectively to foster positivity and stimulate employment.   • 29. Sigmar: In the Community Sigmar has been very fortunate in our success to date. It is our policy to give back to the community through our expertise and resources.
  • 30. Sigmar staff regularly provide their expertise to outside bodies (charities, education and state bodies) to assist on interview panels. Consultants also provide free career coaching to Business in the Community, schools, prisons, universities, the long term unemployed, ex-offenders and minority groups to get them into employment. Sigmar host multiple fundraising events throughout the year to raise money for our chosen charity. Sigmar taking part at an event for AHEAD (Association for Higher Education Access and Disability) Assisting with Business in the Community Christmas Jumper Fundraiser Sigmar co-designed and delivered a jobs expo and career masterclass in the RDS Dublin for the Labour Market Council in 2014. 60 companies exhibited and 1700 jobseekers attended.

  • 33. Dress Code Charity Fashion Show Dress Code, a Sigmar run charity fashion show, showcased the biggest names on the Irish fashion scene in October 2015. The event was hosted by Irish designer and broadcaster Sonia Lennon and Sigmar COO, Robert Mac Giolla Phádraig at the Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin.

RTÉ Local Heroes Local Heroes - A Town Fights Back was a six-part television series which followed the people of Drogheda as they came together to take their economic future into their own hands and start the fight-back for jobs alongside Senator Feargal Quinn and an assembled team of experts including Sigmar CCO Robert Mac Giolla Phádraig. Sigmar developed an FDI strategy ‘Invest Drogheda’ that resulted in Drogheda’s twinning with Salinas, California and three US investments.

Shaping Government Policy For Jobseekers Sigmar led two CEO level thought leadership focus groups in 2014 on new Government re-skilling and job activation programmes JobsPlus and Skills To Work. We had representatives there from the Department of Social Protection, Education, Higher Education Authority, JobBridge, JobsPlus, Springboard, Skillnets, ICT Conversion Programme and Momentum along with 50 HR business leaders. This was the first time all programmes had come together in one room. The Sigmar Job Creation Initiative The Sigmar Job Creation Initiative, presented to Government in April 2010, is a 10 point plan comprising practical recommendations from employers including the heads of companies such as Cadbury, Elan, Glanbia and Hertz among many others. The prime objective of each initiative is to create jobs and remove barriers for jobseekers. Each initiative defines specific benefits for all stakeholders; employers, jobseekers and the government.   • 44. Hosting Digital Assets in Ireland Sigmar CEO Adrian McGennis (pictured) launched the “Hosting Digital Assets in Ireland” report in November 2014. The report, in association with Host in Ireland, examined the availibility of ICT Talent in Ireland and the employment impact of setting up data centres in an area.
