The document provides instructions for origami folding of a bulldog. It was designed by Quentin Trollip after seeing manatees in Florida. The bulldog uses a common base that allocates most paper to the head and front legs. It has a masculine chest achieved through the distribution of layers. Wet folding provides the best results. The instructions include 15 steps to shape the face, legs, tail and body through folds like valley, squash, pleat and reverse folds.

After snorkelling with the
manatees in Florida, I wanted
to design one. The face
resembled a bulldog more,
and so I set off on designing
the Bulldog instead.
I used a common base, which
uses most of the paper for the
head and front legs of the
model. Very little paper is
used for the hind quarters.
The big chest gives the
Bulldog a more masculine
effect.
The distribution of layers is
not ideal, but adds to the big
chest of the Bulldog. The
face can be shaped to the
folder’s preference, adding
more or less wrinkles as you
wish.
Most papers work well, even
up to 120gsm thickness. Wet-
folding give the best results.
