For my recipe card design I made three different types which were all set out in the same layout and I just
changed the font of the texts for each one. For the top left one I used the font ‘Italian Cursive’ for the titles
and a nice simple text called ‘Calibri’ for the description to make it easier to read. The top right one I used a
font called ‘Marathon’ for the titles and ‘Ariel’ for the description text. The bottom left I used a font called
‘Remachine Script’ for the title and ‘Times New Roman’ for the description text. What I wanted to do was to
see which fonts came across as the nicest looking. I came to the conclusion that if I were to put the font
‘Remachine Script’ and the font ‘Calibri’ together, that would look the best, and that is what the bottom right
picture is.
I also used all the colours I planned on using, red, white, green, gold, and black. I wanted to also keep a
nice Italian theme to it by using the bullet points for the ingredients the same colours as the Italian flag. I
also used Italian for the title as well. I thought this would work nicely because the Italian to ‘Italian
Vegetarian’ is pretty similar to the English (Vegetariana Italiana). I thought that this was quite a strong point
for my design.
As you can see on the slide below, I came up with my final layout of what I want it to be like. I have changed
it so the ingredients and method are on the same page. I also took out the nutritional info and replaced it
with a brief description on the food. The title to that was ‘information’ which I then replaced with the Italian
word for it which is ‘Informazioni’ and you can see, it is once again very similar to the English.
For improvements, I think I could think about maybe changing all the titles into Italian if they are similar to
the English.
I would also like to make sure I make all the bullet points exactly the same and align in my actual recipe
cards. It was quite hard to do because it was done with paint and I dint want to just make little circles
because I liked the little fade off it gives off around it with paint.
In conclusion, me and Henry have decided to actually go along and use this layout and design for our actual
recipe cards. We were also wanting to see if it was possible to get a proper gold for our titles if it was not
too expensive.
