Harrods report on the trends from Autumn Winter 2012's catwalk shows, and what make up trends you should be rocking. Whether its diamond encrusted brows or low pony tails, Harrods help you become top of the trend class.
2. Printed Nails
Did you dismiss nail art as a passing novelty? Shame
on you! Try a subtle printed design if this Meadham
Kirchhoff is a bit too much. House of Holland's pink
gingham and Gareth Pugh's silver graphics ooze
sophistication. Not so scary after all.
Pointed Nails
Perhaps a little impractical for everyday
activities, such as typing or getting dressed, but we
were bewitched by Thierry Mugler's sharp pointed
nails. Tone down the trend by reducing the length
and substituting the black laquer for a softer shade.
3. Bright Shadows
'Neutral' is a dirty word when it comes to AW12 eyes - this season its all
about the brights! From smudged matte fuchsias at Thierry Mugler to a
shimmering spectrum of peacock shades at Roberto Cavalli, there has never
been a better time to invest in a palate of high impact eyeshadow.
Eyeliner
Members of Eyeliner Addicts Anonymous need not worry as our best friend
is going nowhere. Champion Lanvin’s graphic flicks with smooth liquid
formula, or for a more undone feel, go for smudgy kohl as seen at Paul
Smith. To liven up the look why not try switching to a coloured liner? Anna
Sui's blue lined eyes were the talk of New York.
Embellished Eyebrows
Karl sent his ladies down the catwalk with some seriously decedent brow
bling which left us all wondering if we could muster up an occasion that calls
for jewel encrusted eyebrows...
we're still wondering.
4. Low Ponytails
It may not be big news that the ponytail is back
but this season it has dropped and now resides
snugly at the nape.
Poker Straight
Forget nonchalant waves, over straightened
locks took the crown as one of AW12's major
hair trends.
Slicked Back Up-Do
Up-do = bad hair day saviour, and this
season's catwalks have given us plenty of
inspiration for our next SOS styling session.
Two Toned
Dippy for dip dye? Jean Paul Gaultier has
turned the trend on its head with contrast
combed-in roots in bright rainbow shades.
