The SLS Las Vegas, formerly the Sahara hotel on the north Las Vegas Strip (approx. 1 mile north of the Wynn/Encore), will open its $415 million rebranding over Labor Day Weekend 2014, just over three years after the former Las Vegas staple was closed after 59 years. Los Angeles-based SBE owns the new casino hotel through a partnership with private equity firm Stockbridge Capital Group. “It’s been an incredible journey these past years and I’m proud and humbled by some big news — SLS Las Vegas is officially opening Labor Day Weekend 2014,” CEO Sam Nazarian posted on the company’s website.
