Products
Carry in your store proprietary products that
your customers can’t buy at the beauty shops,
retail stores, Walmart, or on-line.
When you carry products that you customers
can’t buy at any retail location, they have no
option to come back to your hair salon or
barber shop.
This means that even if they don’t need a
haircut or hair services, they may just stop by
to buy products.
If you do this with 100 customers and each
consume at least 2 bottles of shampoo,
conditioner or any other product per month;
you just increased 200 product sales. This may
lead to a great increase in revenues.
Retail hair products are a multi-billion
dollar industry
Tip 2: 3 Senses
Are Powerful
There are 3 senses you need to use to sell
products. 1) See 2) Smell 3) Feel
Make sure you offer every client a shampoo
service. At the bowl you will have the
opportunity to use the 3 Sense Sales Strategy.
Comment on the how much you love the smell
of the shampoo you're using (if your client
hasn't already).
Let your client play, touch, smell, and see the
products. Your client will subconsciously be
thinking about these products throughout the
rest of their service.
Tip 3:
Team Habits
You need to get all of your barbers or hair stylist
on the same boat; otherwise this won’t work
How do you this?
1) Set weekly goals
2) Develop an Incentive or Reward system for
highest sales
3) Metrics (what gets measure gets managed)
Who is selling the most or the least
What products are selling
What are clients asking for
Reward the highest sellers and help the weak
sellers. Eliminate products that are not selling.
Develop incentive plans for your buyers/clients.
4) You can also contact your local product rep
and see if the manufacturers are offering any
incentives to salon owners. Often times big
product companies will offer deep discounts o
extra back-bar products to their salons that
sell the most retail.
Tip 4:
Social Media Sales
You Go to (www.socialoomph.com) or integrate your
social media into 1. What does integrate your social
media mean?
At twitter you can indicate twitter to automatically
post any posting into your facebook or other social
sites. This way you just post 1 and it will appear
automatically in 2 to 5 social sites. You save posting
time and increase exposure.
With every customer that buys a product or gets
service with you, do the following:
1) Create a form and have every client fill it out
2) Get their linkedin.com, their facebook page,
twitter, etc.
3) Ask permission and tell them to provide
a comment about your services or product or
have them post something.
4) Work their friends. If someone bought a product
from you, it’s likely their friends will buy too.
There is more things you can do. If you did this with
100 customers and each have 100 organic friends;
you have 1000 potential customers who can buy your
products. Now, you are selling on-line; your
increasing revenues; reducing operational costs.
Tip 5:
Product Party
This is a way to have fun with your customers
and staff. It creates corporate culture and
can turn into a systematic marketing strategy.
Every single month for the next 6 months hold
a product party.
Find sample product from new manufacturers
or sample FREE to you. This way you don’t have
to buy a lot of products.
Offer FREE products to your clients.
Invite your staff and their clients to the salon
after-hours, and throw a little cocktail hour
to introduce your clients to your latest retail
products.
Hold a demo. Offer discounts that evening to
your customers.
Have fun and increase profits.

Often times big product companies will offer deep discounts o extra back-bar products to their salons that sell the most retail.

At twitter you can indicate twitter to automatically post any posting into your facebook or other social sites. This way you just post 1 and it will appear automatically in 2 to 5 social sites. You save posting time and increase exposure. With every customer that buys a product or gets service with you, do the following: 1) Create a form and have every client fill it out 2) Get their linkedin.com, their facebook page, twitter, etc. 3) Ask permission and tell them to provide a comment about your services or product or have them post something. 4) Work their friends. If someone bought a product from you, it’s likely their friends will buy too. There is more things you can do. If you did this with 100 customers and each have 100 organic friends; you have 1000 potential customers who can buy your products. Now, you are selling on-line; your increasing revenues; reducing operational costs.

Every single month for the next 6 months hold a product party. Find sample product from new manufacturers or sample FREE to you. This way you don’t have to buy a lot of products. Offer FREE products to your clients. Invite your staff and their clients to the salon after-hours, and throw a little cocktail hour to introduce your clients to your latest retail products. Hold a demo. Offer discounts that evening to your customers. Have fun and increase profits.
