The weirdest Greek delicacies
Well most of you, might think that Greek food is mostly moussakas,
spinach pie, Greek salad and generally a cuisine based on the
Mediterranean diet. This is partly true since there is another unknown
part of the Greek culinary tradition which we can say contains
some edgy foods.
Some of these dishes are common for Greek people, they do not find
anything strange about them but this is not the case for many travellers
who visit this country and remain speechless when they taste or just
hear about those traditional foods.
Let’s have a look at some of them…
Patsas
2. If you ever visit the capital of Grecce , Athens , you can taste “patsas” at
the central market of the city, in Epirus one of the oldest traditional
restaurants which operates 24 hours a day. Of course you can taste it
anywhere in this country. “Patsas” is a soup made of pork belly, legs,
ears and generally most of the parts of the animal which otherwise we
would have thrown away. It is served with lemon or vinegar, chili
peppers, salt and pepper. It is considered the best food after a night of
heavy drinking since it is soothing for the stomach.

Octopus ink sack
This is not a very common dish even for Greeks. It is prepared in some
Eastern islands of the Aegean sea, it is usually the ink sack of an
octopus but you may find of cuttlefish, fried with some flour, but very
carefully since we do not want it to blow and remain without its ink, which
give a distinguished flavor to this truly unique food.
