Deer Cave, on the island of Borneo, contains a floor of bat dung 100 meters long that supports an entire ecosystem of cockroaches, centipedes, and crabs. The critters are born, live, breed, and die in the dung. They are completely unaware that nice green leaves grow on lush trees just outside the cave, a mere 100 meters away. http://who-god-is.com/dont-crawl-around-in-dung-when-fresh-green-leaves-are-just-yards-away
3. Deer Cave is
on the Southeast Asian Island of Borneo.
It contains a floor of bat dung 100 meters long.
This dung supports an entire ecosystem of
cockroaches, centipedes, and crabs.
They are born, live, breed, and die in the dung.
They are also completely unaware that nice green
leaves grow on lush trees just 100 meters outside the
door of the cave.
4. As I read this story…
the Holy Spirit showed me that many times we
humans do the same thing.
We crawl around in the same “dung” over and over
again, sometimes even giving up hope that things will
ever change for the better.
We are like the critters who are satisfied living in the
dung inside the cave. But God can see the lush forest
on the outside of the cave where we can have a much
better life than on the inside.
5. The way to get out of the “dung”
is to trust in God, whom you can’t physically see.
The critters in the cave can only see what they are
living in at the moment.
You can only see where you are at this moment.
But God can not only see the lush forest yards away, He
can see across the globe to unknown places, people, or
events that can transform your life forever.
6. GOD!
How He chooses to use YOU is
up to Him, but if YOU desire
to be used by HIM, YOU must
make the choice to be a part
of what HE is doing.
7.
8. The Israelites
were stuck in “dung” and legalism when Jesus came to set
them free from their messed up lives.
BUT…they had to make the choice to be open to hear what
He had to say.
They could keep crawling around in “dung” or walk out of
the cave into the freedom that Jesus died on the cross to
give them.
He offered them the free gift of righteousness, but they had
to accept it, and choose to implement and walk in it.
9. A Life Change…
It was a dramatic life change for the Israelites.
But surrendering your life to follow God today will result in
you making some life changes as well.
God has a much better life planned for you than you can
ever imagine.
BUT…you must make the choice to accept it and follow
where He leads.
I can definitely promise that your life won’t ever be boring
again.
10. From personal experience,
I admit that walking into the
unknown is scary; but when
you think about it, living
your whole life crawling
around in the “dung” in the
bat cave is much more scary.
