• Acquired Bombay Company with two stores in near bankruptcy for $26,000, and led as
Chairman, President and CEO in developing a 440 store chain with $1.1B market value
• Achieved tax-free spin-off of business operating unit after IRS had denied it twice, by
developing approach that included engaging former IRS Commissioner Roscoe Eggers
• Raised $8 Million with a Convertible Subordinated Debenture and $3 Million unsecured
line of credit during banking crisis in 1980’s
• Turned-around private company on verge of financial collapse by completing IPO,
raising additional $12.5M operating capital, and obtaining $10M Line of Credit
• Developed and managed unique program to retain manufacturing plants by importing cut
parts from Argentina to take advantage of currency exchange rates, export credits and
lower labor rates. Maintained program despite military coup in Argentina in March 1976.
