Alfajores are a traditional dessert you will in Spain as well as parts
of Latin America including Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, Colombia,

Each country has its own variation of alfajor
The name “alfajor” has its origins in Arabic, meaning “luxury” or
“exquisite”
In Latin America, alfajores typically have two soft cake-like biscuits
that are held together with either dulce de leche or fruit jam, and
sometimes are coated in chocolate

total and per capita
The Argentine alfajor has two cookies and is often filled with Argentine
dulce de leche

in the 1940’s

Cachafaz brand
Cachafaz is based in Ciudadela, a
suburb outside Buenos Aires
Cachafaz alfajores are more readily
available than Havanna at corner
stores, groceries, etc.
