PROFESSIONAL GRADE. NO COMPROMISE.
HERE COME THE NEW 2011 SIERRA HEAVY DUTIES.
Product information is preliminary. Production models may vary.
GMC engineers never stop exceeding expectations. This philosophy holds true with the new Sierra Heavy
Duty (HD) lineup – a big-time example of engineering excellence with no compromise.
ALL-NEW CHASSIS AND FRAME THAT DELIVER outstanding CAPABILITY AND RIDE
Sierra HD has been reengineered from the ground up to provide excellent trailering and payload – one
of the top reasons customers seek out heavy-duty trucks. In fact, Sierra HD provides segment-leading
payload in the most popular HD model: the 4x4 3/4-ton Crew Cab (see page 4.)
segment-leading POWER WITH A NEW DURAMAX®
DIESEL ENGINE AND ALLISON®
TRANSMISSION
This powertrain combination has a proven track record with nearly 1.3 million sold in the last decade.
Here’s to millions more - GMC has made it quieter and more powerful than before. Additionally it is now
B20 biodiesel compatible. Under the hood, 397 hp and 765 lb.-ft. of torque make the new Duramax the
most powerful diesel in the segment.
NEW CONTROL FEATURES FOR CONFIDENCE WITH HEAVY LOADS
The ultimate workhorse truck provides the utmost confidence to manage the heaviest of loads. The new
Sierra HD lineup has it all covered with an array of control features.
BEST WARRANTY in the segment
No one can match the GMC powertrain limited warranty – plus you get courtesy transportation and
roadside assistance.
AN EXCLUSIVE DENALI HD MODEL
GMC is extending its exclusive Denali line to the Sierra Heavy Duty lineup – a first-time HD offering of
Denali’s unique combination of distinctive style, premium features and capability.
This guide will help you explore all that is new for the 2011 model year and what makes these trucks a
cut above the rest. Watch for the new 2011 Sierra HD lineup to be in showrooms in late Spring. For more
information, be sure to visit GMC.com/SierraHD.
DID YOU KNOW? GMC has
built trucks for 108 years ...

F E AT U R E what it does
StabiliTrak®
Electronic Stability Control (all
2500HD and single-rear-wheel 3500HD models)
Uses a combination of braking and engine management to help improve vehicle
stability, particularly during emergency maneuvers.
Hill Start Assist
(on all single-rear-wheel configurations)
Uses vehicle and trailer brakes to keep Sierra HD and/or a trailer from rolling
backward when launching on an incline. The brakes apply for approximately 1.5
seconds to allow the driver to move foot from brake pedal to accelerator pedal
without any vehicle movement.
Trailer Sway Control
(on all single-rear-wheel configurations)
Works with StabiliTrak to determine if the trailer is swaying and applies the
brakes/trailer brakes. It also can reduce engine power to bring both the vehicle
and trailer under control.
Four-wheel ABS with larger, four-wheel disc
foundation brakes and Intelligent Brake Assist
Intelligent Brake Assist senses an urgent braking situation via the driver’s
application of the brake pedal then applies full braking capability without full
travel of the brake pedal.
OnStar®
with six months of
Directions Connections Plan
standard on most models.1
Offers the convenience of hands-free calling and includes Automatic Crash
Response, Stolen Vehicle Assistance, Emergency Services, Roadside Assistance,
Remote Horn and Lights and more.
XM®

(with 3-month trial)
Commercial-free music channels from virtually every genre, live performances,
sports, entertainment, compelling talk, world news, local traffic and more – all in

Personalize your driving experience – the USB port recharges your iPod®
/MP3
player while it plays audio from the device through the sound system.
Bluetooth®
for phone4
Provides in-vehicle, hands-free operation with a Bluetooth-equipped cell phone.
Steering-wheel-mounted controls let you start a call and control volume, then dial
by voice and listen to your call through the audio system.
“Smart” Exhaust Brake
(standard on Duramax®
-equipped models)
Helps reduce brake fade while prolonging brake life. Provides confidence when
hauling heavy loads on downhill grades. This system is “smart” and varies the
amount of braking needed based on the truck load and grade.
Available WiFi (via dealer-installed Autonet Mobile)5
Connect to the Internet inside your Sierra HD.
Available integrated trailer brake controller Dash-mounted controls provide a measured brake force signal to
electric-controlled trailer brakes.
Available seat pelvic/thorax and head curtain
side air bags6
(2500HD models)
Protection in the event of a collision.
Available Rearview

Maximum trailer ratings are calculated assuming standard equipped vehicle, driver, and required trailering equipment. The weight of option equipment, passengers, and cargo will reduce the maximum trailer weight your
vehicle can tow. 10% to 15% of the trailer weight is the recommended trailer tongue load.

F E AT U R E what it does StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control (all 2500HD and single-rear-wheel 3500HD models) Uses a combination of braking and engine management to help improve vehicle stability, particularly during emergency maneuvers. Hill Start Assist (on all single-rear-wheel configurations) Uses vehicle and trailer brakes to keep Sierra HD and/or a trailer from rolling backward when launching on an incline. The brakes apply for approximately 1.5 seconds to allow the driver to move foot from brake pedal to accelerator pedal without any vehicle movement. Trailer Sway Control (on all single-rear-wheel configurations) Works with StabiliTrak to determine if the trailer is swaying and applies the brakes/trailer brakes. It also can reduce engine power to bring both the vehicle and trailer under control. Four-wheel ABS with larger, four-wheel disc foundation brakes and Intelligent Brake Assist Intelligent Brake Assist senses an urgent braking situation via the driver’s application of the brake pedal then applies full braking capability without full travel of the brake pedal. OnStar® with six months of Directions Connections Plan standard on most models.1 Offers the convenience of hands-free calling and includes Automatic Crash Response, Stolen Vehicle Assistance, Emergency Services, Roadside Assistance, Remote Horn and Lights and more. XM® Radio2 (with 3-month trial) Commercial-free music channels from virtually every genre, live performances, sports, entertainment, compelling talk, world news, local traffic and more – all in crisp, clear digital sound. Bluetooth® for phone4 Provides in-vehicle, hands-free operation with a Bluetooth-equipped cell phone. Steering-wheel-mounted controls let you start a call and control volume, then dial by voice and listen to your call through the audio system. “Smart” Exhaust Brake (standard on Duramax® -equipped models) Helps reduce brake fade while prolonging brake life. Provides confidence when hauling heavy loads on downhill grades. This system is “smart” and varies the amount of braking needed based on the truck load and grade.
